I read this disturbing piece of news and just can’t take it out of my head. See, the rumors in Fashion Land (which is, as you know, a land far, far away from Normal People Land) swirl around a certain appointment at the helm of Balenciaga: Alexander Wang.
Sure, names could very well be thrown in by the house in question, maybe they really are as headless as they want us to believe and they have no clue as to who’d be suitable to run their creative design office and now they’re running polls through the fashpopulation, see how they weigh in. Honestly? If they do come to Wang with their proposal, I cross my fingers for him to say no. I want Alexander Wang to keep his own name / brand / identity. How about you?

I am sorry for being the one who brings you the news: Alexander is the new creative director at Balenciaga since today at 1pm.
I continue to cherish the love and admiration for the beauty and craftsmanship combined with creativity and elegance of the one and only Cristobal Balenciaga.

oh . so it’s a done deal. Oh well. At least we’ll see some draped fabric and hopefully lots of loose silhouettes . I’m afraid Balenciaga will crush Wang’s spirit… :(
In these hard times economic wise it’s not unlikely Alexander Wang own brand sales went down. Balenciaga (PPR) did an offer he couldn’t refuse?
I sincerely hope this will not crush Wang’s spirit. He has to deliver numbers for PPR…..
