Thoughts: Anna De Rijk’s Vogue Netherlands November 2012 Cover

As our dear friend, Riana, advised us to keep an eye out for Dutch magazines, I saw this new Vogue Nederland November 2012 cover and it felt strange. I decided to ask you as well. Maybe Anna de Rijk’s neo – Victorian styling and green styling of the cover would look more appealing to you. So please, let’s discuss: what’s this lacey number doing for a 2012 leathery fall? {vogueNLfb}

:)
I love this cover, it is so classy.
Netherlands Vogue’s editors seem to get it right. From what I have seen their covers are lovely and I would pick them over US Vogue’s any day! : )

Aww, how lovely. Us Dutch do everything our own way. We are Europe’s enfant terrible. And I hope we shall continue to be so. Which shows with this Vogue. Proud at the ladies. Well done again girls!!
Beats Vogue Paris. Karin Swerink and her team beats Emmanuelle Alt and Anna Wintour and her celebs! With that se><ed up Rihanna US Vogue cover, UK with another celeb and well……duh!!

Hmm, I totally see this Victorian lace combined with something leather….as a sort of "shade of grey thinghy"? No, I can't get through the books but I can imagine women loves it. Although this is a dress. I would prefer a blouse and leather pants. I wore something like that in the '80's. Dressed as an innocent rock prowler. Youth is so great…;)

Coincidentally and sadly Sylvia Kristal passed away. R.I.P. to the one and only Emanuelle and Anna shows off a bit of that serene beauty La Kristel pulled off so wonderfully.

Gotta to admit I was so wrong being critical about a Dutch Vogue. I had my reasons of course economically wise and we had Elle which is one of the best. Until now I am pleased and this cover with the blue and green and that Victorian feel has something so appealling…so dreamy….whatever you like to dream….in my not humble opinion ;)

Yay, next purchase. :)

I concur with you both . It is a lovely cover.
Actually it is inspired by a very famous flemish painting (just cant point out which, right now ).

And they have an interview with Selah Sue ?? I wish I could read dutch!

Feels proud!!

Ellington, perhaps?

ana, I’m asking around since it did look familiar to me as well but I never, ever came up with that thought! A good friend is an art historican. Hopes she can inform me. I’d also ask it at the Dutch Vogue FB page.

Could it be this Flemish painting by chance?

That is lovely from you Riana. Please keep me informed. I checked the photographer webpage to see if it is a recurrent theme for him but this cover seems very different from his usual work.

ana, we have been off-line for 20 hours in the region where I live. Thanks to the provider. Did sent the request to my friend today. No reply at the page of Vogue alas. :(
That this cover looks familiar to me is possible since I saw a Vogue UK’s ’70’s cover with Sylvia Kristel last week. Which was posted in her honour.

I shall not rest to find out since I am intrigued by your comment…:)

Riana, thank you sweety. Don´t worry girl. I am probably wrong on my bet. perhaps it is just a classic portrait posing?
Elligton, thank you too! How lovely ;-)
It could be this one. I was thinking on one of a young woman but I could be confused.

That’s exactly what my friend said!! It’s probably just a classic posing.

Selah Sue talks about the dark side of her life as I understood. I still need to purchase this issue.
