Angelina Jolie’s Gray Pleated Elie Saab Dress For Palm Spring Festival

I have nothing but sincere admiration for Angelina Jolie (or her stylist) for such a consistent style! Not only Angelina is keeping her color palette to a minimum (black, gray, white) but she’s also favoring the blouson dresses with every single occasion she can! Especially on the Red Carpet.

I don’t know about you, but I’d call that personal style! And it’s so hard to come by these days (on the Red Carpet, especially)! Angelina Jolie was wearing a gray pleated Elie Saab gown (apparently from the Spring Summer 2011 collection) to the 23rd edition of the Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. She was there to support her longtime partner, Brad Pitt, who has received the “Desert Palm Achievement Actor Award” for Moneyball (have you seen it yet?). (the story continues after the jump with more images!)

Brad is seen in the pictures wearing a cane – it’s not a fashionable accessory, Brad has confessed he was carrying his daughter (which one?) and fell. Everyone, he said, is just fine. I remember I was considering that Angelina’s Red Carpet style was dull and uninspired. Now, after all this time of covering her appearance / outfits on various occasions, I think it’s a strong display of personal style. And that whoever is choosing her clothes and styles her, is doing a wonderful job! What’s your take on the matter?

Looks nothing like the Elie Saab gown but she gets away well with the dropped waist line.
Anyway Angie doesn’t need any added embellishment & always looks the most comfortable on the red carpet compared to a lot other stars.

Ah, but it does! It’s the hemline that’s changed – and she also lost the belt. You think it’s not the same model from chest down, then?

Oh yes I agree its the same dress & I don’t doubt Angie’s choice of Elie Saab but stars like Angie have the power to command changes in design I guess. To my amateur eyes she didn’t seem to like the spaghetti straps of the original & prefered a dropped waist giving the dress another aspect of the original.
You’re right Kpriss the drop waist has sort of become her signature red carpet look of recent.

To me they look like different dressed but original coming from same idea and same fabric?
I do not like that waist-line much; it make her looks more thin. But I like it how Angelina stick to her own signature style. Also the way she’s dressed “private”. (Paps photos that is.) But I never find these two look comfortable on red carpets. Can’t blame them though.

I like the dress, it looks lovely on her. And the original is nifty as well.
Angelina mos def has her own style and she knows what works on her which is great! : )
Angelina and Brad look as as comfortable and happy with each other as one can with the world glaring at you. To be honest I cannot abide when people mug affectionately for the camera. It often looks way forced, like maudlin wedding photos.

It’s also possible the original “dress” is a skirt and a top as it’s possible this are two different designs my ladies?
I saw a photo of the back of Angelina’s dress. Would love to see the back of the model’s design…tried to google it but alas, no such luck.

I don’t like the dropped waistline on Angelina but the other option is not her style. Though I believe it would make her skinny frame look much better.

hmm.. that’s an interesting thought – that she would combine two dresses. After all, like you said, she does have the “power” to alter designer clothes!

C’mon! The colour, the design of the frock is ghastly!

It’s a SHROUD fer Crissakes.

The worst piece of drapery I have I ever seen.
