Hugo Boss has always been on the austere side of the aesthetic and this Hugo Boss Fall Winter 2011 2012 campaign makes no exception. Although starring Daria Werbowy and Mark van der Loo, the Mario Sorrenti photographed images exude solitary wealth, simulated happiness. Simulated life.
As far as I’m concerned, they could’ve dressed a couple of plastic mannequins for the job instead of using Daria and Mark, the end result would have matched this one in the smallest details. A great house, beautiful designed and sewn clothes, impeccably executed photographs of utterly gorgeous models don’t make a great campaign, wouldn’t you agree? (photos via)

I agree!
(In Dutch it is Mark van der Loo – he married recently his longterm love; they have two children ;) )
Thank you, ajginger! He’s a fellow Dutch, huh? ;)
Oh Kpriss, sorry! He has always been called Mark Vanderloo in the US or Mark Vander Loo…whatever…..This is de way we Dutch write our names…So nothing wrong with how you wrote it due to American standards. I am sometimes annoyed by the Anglo-American ways. It’s nothing personal to you!!!!! Mark looks so much better without photoshop!
Yeah, but it’s the guy’s name, right? I love it when you bring additional info to the table! love it, love it!
Okay then!
Yes, it’s his name. We write our names like that. Do you remember model Frederique van der Wal? I see her name written in different ways too. :)
Maybe he was advised to combine his name because loo is slang for toilet? Just wondering – you know because image is everything? Anyway he is mighty fine.
Good point indeed keiko. A pity for his beautiful last name though.
He is an icon in the fashion industry – so he has the last laugh!
