Anna Wintour’s Summer Long Island House

This may not look as good as Manolo Blahnik’s home (partly because it lacks life and actual fashion and mostly because it lacks the vision of the talented photographer), however, do take a look at Anna Wintour’s summer house!

It’s her Long Island property, reworked and redesigned to fit her Vogue-ish Majesty with all the royal comfort and style she deserves! The result is pretty much symmetrical to whatever fashion standard she’s trying to maintain in her Vogue editor offices, as celeb ready and artificially natural as possible. However, it’s Anna Wintour herself who said it best:

“…an 1834 farmhouse, with loads of additions and 12 poky bedrooms. It had a perplexing reception room with difficult, though grand, proportions. It had lawns that tumbled down toward a beautiful-to-the-eye, toxic-to-everything-else river. It had nearly 25 acres of difficult trees in deer-infested woods. It was, as we say at Vogue, challenging.”

um… yes, Anna, the nature is pretty challenging usually. And pretty as it is. But then again, there must be some kind of Photoshop ops for natural environments also. You can have a glimpse at what was before the Summer House of Wintour right after the jump! (tA via NYmag)

I’m jealous. Period. I would decorate it myself more cosy and lively etc. What a great house in that envoriment with all that green…..I doubt the neighbourhood invite me for tea though? :D
I re-watched The September Issue last night. Anna’s own house looks that aesthetic too. Now I wonder what Grace Coddington’s house looks like. I did admire her yet but now I adore her. She’s the star of the film IMHO. :)

What a lovely place… Very cosy and relaxing. The backyard gives fresh air and a great place for summer vacation… Great post!

Hey Anni! Thanks for taking the time to stop and look at the pictures! The wicker wingback chairs look very similar to a particular model I sent you an email with. If it didn’t go through, let me know here or via FB (link in the upper right corner of the page, next to the search case). Have a lovely day!
