You imagine I couldn’t keep quiet over this distastefulness. Good thing it’s all gone now. It’s a disgrace for Selfridges to have made such window display though they keep denying it had anything to do with Alexander McQueen’s death.
My wild guess is that they went for it fully aware it would cause a stir, hoping the buzz created equals free publicity. And it’s a won bet – the few days the McQueen Hanging Dress window was functional, it properly made the rounds of the fashinterwebs and more. Isn’t there anything sacred anymore?
