Flower By Kenzo New Year’s And The Russian Matryoshka Doll

If you count out Photoshop, Russian Magazines do a pretty good fashion job. And if you think of Russian Haute Couture Inspiration, you’d say that those fashmags are just the tip of the Russian inspiration iceberg.

Behold! We’re headed towards a Russian winter! (Hopefully not, since I heard they’re pretty harsh!) At least fashion wise! After Guerlain’s collection with and inspired by Natalia Vodianova, there goes Kenzo. Recreating the Kenzo Flower perfume in a New Year’s special Edition, hidden inside a Matryoshka. (the story continues right after the jump!)

Kenzo Flower New Year s Edition Matryoshka

Though I wouldn’t normally expect to find a poppy when opening a Matryoshka Doll, this new Kenzo Flower edition looks pretty good and smells just like any Kenzo Flower should: beautifully flowerish and still very strong. Just like a poppy: you’d think it’s nothing, but then it’s everywhere! I’ve always been a big fan of Kenzo’s fragrances, still for those of you unfamiliar with Flower, it smells like: black and red currant, Bulgarian rose, violets from Parma, jasmine, vanilla and musk. The New Year’s Kenzo Flower is available from November 2009. (via)

I used to have this dolls when I was little. I really don’t like Kenzo’s perfumes (maybe I’m crazy), I’ve received the Kenzo flower as a gift and I didn’t like it also ( I regift it). I guess Kenzo is just not my perfume style. I’m crazy about Calvin Klein and Valentino :)

Some time ago I wrote negative about those Russian doll in doll in doll….I don’t have them anymore and I’ve to confess now I wish I still had those…..I’m not a collector. (not completely true I do collect certain things with a passion.) If I’ve enough of things, anything no matter what, I give it away to someone who loves it. I begin to regret things and am more careful of late….

But this is about perfume. I’ve had enough of perfume for years. Now I feel a new desire for perfume and am trying to find a nice, light, fresh flower-ish uplifting fragrance but not too strong! Any tips my lovely ladies? That would be nice. :)

I love our Viktor&Rolf but their “Flowerbomb” kills me. And my once so beloved “Boudoir” by Dame Vivienne is now a nice looking bottle with a left-over (which slowly disappear by the way!) in my bathroom.

Have you tried Hermes? Their “Jardin du…” (various scents names) is particularly light.

Kpriss, I’ve nothing tested yet. I’m want to take my time and shall keep your advice in mind. Next week I go on boot hunt and fragrance and nice things for Fall/Winter. Just basic stuff. It’s an easy advice to remember.
Brrr, I tried Marc J’s “Daisy” last year or so and at first it was really nice and then it became worse and so worse I could taste it at the end of the evening. No matter what I’d try to get rid off it and I was “cured” from fragrances for a quite some time.

Ellington, not an advice for me?

Oh yes Adriana!
If you are looking for a new fragrance may I suggest trying Jo Malone’s line.
She has many different scents that can are lovely. They are not too strong and over powering and they smell nice on their own and can be combined with other her scents or brands.
I myself use her “Wild Fig and Cassis” I love it! :)
I hope that you find one that does not make you feel ill and that you can taste. That is a gross feeling!
Hugs and smiles to you! :)

Oh, Jo Malone….right, a charming guy bought some for a good friend’s birthday, such a gentleman. It’s limited available here in the Netherlands and I’ve never have smell it but it always sounds so good to me.
Kenzo is really promoting this new fragrance. I got a news-letter from the Douglas chain with a coupon I can pick a sample which I’m gonna try of course. Douglas is a big perfumery chain but the shop in my city is nice and personal and I love to go there. Knows all the ladies and am always spoilt with lots off samples. I’ve Clarins body-care for months to go for free. And other addictive expensive goodies….sighs…
I let you girls know what I think of this Kenzo scent.

Jo Malone…dreams on here…..her passion is so fascinating…..
