Oh, what a royal issue this Vogue Italy July 2009! It seems year after year, the July Issues of Vogue Italia are set to defy any Summer magazine standards and serve amazingly beautiful content. Chilled.
I first started with McMenamy, then the Black Barbie special edition, now I’m going back to the supers with a new editorial : Genuine Allure. (don’t miss the rest of the pictures, right after the jump!)
Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Elle MacPherson, Eva Herzigova, Gisele Bundchen, Helena Christensen, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Nadja Auermann, Natalia Vodianova, Stella Tennant. Alphabetically ordered, from various years and different places, the pictures from this beautiful Vogue Italy editorial are meant to bring out the candid-press era we’re currently experiencing.
Tons and tons of ink, gazillion of bites of information all coded up in paparazzi pictures of this and that celeb, this and that model. Invading the privacy or those more or less young, more or less beautiful but all famous, the paparazzi photographer is now an art. Democratically born, extremely popular and highly requested by the masses, it’s part of the consumerist way of life.
Sure, I love seeing pictures of the Supermodels off-catwalk, off-fashion shoot et caetera, but do I really care what my dentist is doing in his/her spare time? It’s the same for those models. It’s their job to be seen, to be photographed and so on, but is it really our concern what they do once “out of the office”? Is it fashion such an important part of our life that we just can’t let them be “out of the office”? (photos via)

I’m a bit “super tired” though I like some of those ladies/photos.
I’ve read somewhere a remark by Christy: “In fact my face is a dime in a dozen in many parts of the world”. I’ve so many good reasons to like her. This is one off them. Because it’s the simple truth. These are the ones that were “super lucky”…..;->
