Riccardo Tisci For Antony Hegarty

Dressing an artist is a tricky thing to do since you always have to count his/her style and blend it into your way to make fashion in order to successfully travel the stage world together.

Riccardo Tisci designed for Atony Hegarty (Antony and the Johnsons) and the result is at least as impressive as Antony’s performances! Inspired by Antony’s cat (who died just before his rendez vous with Riccardo Tisci), one of the spectacular outfits for Antony’s Paris’ concert (July 9th) has a cat’s head on one shoulder.

Givenchy‘s Riccardo Tisci also created a beige washed silk satin wide pants and long dress ensemble, gloves and gold glitter shoes. Wouldn’t that be more interesting to see than Michael Jackson blingyfull Swarovski stage-outfits? (via)

Far more interesting! I love the wonderful Antony Hegarty so much. Oh, how happy Antony must have been with his outfit!
I wish I could be there……I’ve seen Antony and the Johnsons once perform some years ago. Something I shall never ever forget. Such a beautiful voice, such a wonderful person. Gosh, I just added two vids from Antony to my faves on YouTube! He was here in the Netherlands some days ago to perform for the prestigious Holland Festival with a big orchestra. Broadcasted on tv….chicken skin…..

I guess that you wrote that Michael Jackson comment before he was pronounced dead of a cardiac arrest on June 25th. : (
Now that he is gone I would loved to have seen him perform glitter and all!

Indeed I wrote that good hours before the news flooded the Internet!

RIP Michael Jackson!

(Swarovski or no Swarovski, I still believe he was the world’s greatest entertainer! Who wasn’t a fan? I “remember the time” I had my fedora on and paper fingertips just to make my MJ impression)

Yesterday was a busy day for the Angels. First Farah Fawcett and then Michael Jackson :(

It was just after midnight here overseas when I heard the news on Dutch radio. Only 7 minutes after the official announcement Michael had died. And from that moment on only MJ music was played and people phoned constantly to the radio station. What an impact music and the entertainer can have on someone’s life……I also phoned and my request was “Human Nature”. Not a song I danced too but to me his most beautiful one. R.I.P. Michael.

As for Farrah Fawcett, I remember a little girl that would be like her with all that hair and that bright smile. R.I.P. Farrah.

But before I went to sleep I played Antony and The Johnsons “Hope there’s someone”…..

Oh, that’s really a beautiful tune, Adriana! Hope there’s someone for MJ, indeed! Judging by the sadness his departure has brought to the world…

Oh well, I read the line above about his stage costumes and it all seems so vain now! Who wouldn’t have had him perform in whatever-bling he wanted than this? It was a cousin who told my husband about it, right after it made the news (given that we’re so anti-TV and all) and I thought (hoped) it was a bad joke (so many tasteless people in the world! and MJ has brought upon himself such hate rain, I wonder if it’s not sadness that stopped his heart from beating). Had to follow the toddlers routine throughout the day and as soon as I could, I hit the Internet. Ellington had beat me to it :(

Michael was tortured by a lot illnesses. He hadn’t the strenght his friend Elizabeth Taylor has, he was so far more fragile…..
Hopes someone take care with love for his three children…..

Kpriss, I’ve read your piece here very early in the morning…..

I feel really sad about Michael Jackson’s passing. I really loved him music and it is now that I realize just how far and wide his influence went with people and other musicians. I have many favourite songs of his: Don’t Stop till you get enough, Scream with his sister Janet, but one of his very touching songs to me is Stranger in Moscow. The words, the melody and the video to that song are hauntingly beautiful. If you could Kpriss please post that song it is not as well known as his others but I really feel that he felt like the words in that song.
I will remember him with fondest in my heart. : )
