Mika Relax (Take It Easy)

Today’s Friday Break is something I loved from the very first moment I heard. A simple, timeless tune that’ll stick with you throughout the day and (hopefully) it’ll help you relax a bit.

I sometimes sing Mika’s Relax song when I’m trapped in traffic or when I’m running errands contre temps. It’s a sweet funny song I hope you’ll enjoy! (more about the song and Mika right after the jump!)

Awarded and praised, Mika (Michael Holbrook Penniman) is a young British singer who made his breakthrough in 2007 with his first album Life In Cartoon Motion. Born in Lebanon, raised in France and England, Mika attended the Royal College of Music and he admitted being highly influenced by Queen’s Freddie Mercury with whom he was repeatedly compared.

Relax (take it easy) was released at the end of 2006 and was nominated for NRJ Music Awards. (the drawings for his album cover & more were made by his sister, Yasmine, currently a fashion designer) According to his website, Mika has finished the recordings in March 2009 so there’s a new album on the way…
