Daria Werbowy, everybody’s darling model turns into a quick-change artist for a quick David Sims pictorial in May’s issue of Vogue US. It’s supposed to be a models-issue, it would be natural they include every model (and their dogs. They did introduce the boyfriends, so why stop there?) in at least one picture, no matter how tiny (Naomi has a picture! Just ONE!)
Now getting back to Daria, she goes from elegant to sporty, from bride-ish to garçonne, everything in the same photo shoot though the photos may seem worlds apart. (the story continues after the jump, don’t miss the gallery with Daria Werbowy’s pictures from Vogue May 2009)
Even if they praise her uniqueness, Daria’s photos look worn out by their very own cliché. White wedding-like gown photographed in a castle, the sportish bathing suit with a sun cap on, the ever-charming jumping picture, the tweed garçonne, the slickness of CK-anything, and of course, the it-jacket of all seasons – The Balmain Sgt Pepper blingy Jacket!
I love Daria, I love these photos, but I don’t feel a new vibration or some surprising breeze coming from them. It’s a normal (almost fashion) editorial with someone we get to see so often in magazine spreads and ad campaigns. I was so enthusiastic about this issue, I got over the top with Natalia Vodianova’s photo-impersonations and now my excitement barometer is dropping alarmingly fast.
I will try and fill back my Vogue May enthusiasm bucket, we’ll see if it works! In the mean time, what do you think of Daria’s ed? (photos via tfs)

I like the photos and she looks lovely as usual. The May Vogue issue seems pretty stellar. It cannot be all spectacular highs, somethings may just be fair to middling.
I agree with what Ellington said.
The only I’ve seen enough already is that IT-jacket.
Grrr….*The only piece I’ve seen enough already is that IT-jacket. *
