Not so long ago I thought it was all about bright yellow nails for 2009. I may have jumped to conclusions: it seems the world’s most reputed fashionistas still bid it all on black polish to make the trendiest punk-o-gothic spring appearance!
Heidi Klum took her black lacquered nails (and same gorgeous YLS pumps), her endless legs and fabricated smile to introduce us Barbie’s Volkswagen Beetle, Barbie’s 50th anniversary edition (have you seen that vanity in the back? Insane!). (don’t miss the rest of the pictures right after the jump!)
Victoria Beckham paired her Sixties coat with a purple Hermes Birkin and… (suspense!) black nail polish! Kate Moss was seen sporting black nails at the Chanel FW 09/10 fashion show. That’s where Brit songbird Lily Allen was also seen wearing her nails all black!
Looking further, Gwyneth Paltrow was just spotted in London without makeup but with (drum roll, please!) black naaaaails! Also reporting for the black nails brigade were: Beth Ditto, the new fashion darling, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Kristen Cavallari and Amanda Bynes.

You can trust both or neither of them. I think it should be up to you. Its nice to know that you have a choice. I kind of like the idea of both colours for this summer.
I go for the black nails but only because yellow doesn’t match nicely with a pale skin with freckles like mine.
