Kate Winslet Goes Deneuve In Vanity Fair December 2008

You’d say it isn’t her, and still! Kate Winslet is, indeed, covering the December Issue of Vanity Fair Magazine.

Blonde and beautiful, she channels her inner Catherine Deneuve and strikes a “bares all” photo shoot signed by Steven Meisel. I usually don’t read this kind of editorials. But Kate’s case was different. Just like Julianne Moore’s. I love these two ladies. They’re so natural and down to earth, I can’t help but find interesting almost every detail of their personalities. In total and complete respect for their privacy (meaning I don’t do gossip about them; it would be… amoral) (more pictures after the jump)

In her interview she talks about her, her life, her professional life. But I won’t get into that, this article would be too long and not different from the Vanity Fair column. I’ll get personal about why and how I like Kate Winslet. I think she’s different. Down to earth different. And she has a magical energy, something almost magnetic (at least on screen, I haven’t had the pleasure in person) that you don’t get to see every day. An honest love for life.

There’s even a controversy involving Kate and these pictures because of their so called excessive Photoshop airbrush. I think that’s completely out of purpose. Just because Kate looks like one of us, doesn’t mean that for a magazine photo she’s been reinvented pixel by pixel.

She looks good. Bottom line. Why don’t they raise their voices over Vogue’s Kate Moss as well? Over Vogue’s Gwyneth? Did you recognized Kate on the cover? Was this shoot too much for the young Brit? (via)

Is that really Kate Winslett? Kate steamy backseat scene with Leonardo in the Titanic Winslett? I didn’t recognise her! She looks a picture of health.
Beautiful!

Eehhhhh, I’ve raised my voice yet enough about photoshop and other unnatural looks……but wasn’t it Kate (Winslet) herself who protest against her being photoshopped….ah, shut up Adriana…..

I think there’s was a “Titanic” work of photographic technique to make her look slim and almost photoshopped.. So I myself (with help from my beloved husband who’s photographic knowledge is far more important than my amateur-ish ideas on pictures and how, when..) think she was helped to look thin, by the photographer, not by the P-shop software.

LOL about the Titanic pun Kpriss!
Well I guess I didn’t want to admit it but I do suspect Kate had a little help to look so stunning. She always did seem a bit on the heavy side so its bewildering to see how filiformed she is here.Anyway even if Meisel lent a hand its really nothing dramatic and Kate won’t loose her fans.

LOL but Kate seemed to be furious after all, not sure if this are the real facts, read it on the gossip page of the Daily Mail, but Kate is anti-fur and she posed on real fur while she thought it was fake! Kinda odd, if you can’t see or feel the difference while you’re there…..
Anyway, true I’m going on being a Kate fan as from the moment I saw her for the first time in “Heavenly Creatures”. An unknown actress with that huge eye-brows made such a big impression on me forever. Well, its about time I get used to all this fake and perfect looking photos….but I still think its not healthy for young girls to grow up with this images. It has gone too far. Well, we all know that and its the last time I ever will say a word about it. I promise…….
