I can hardly find a more suitable closure for this Fashion Weeks season but the Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 Collection. And that’s not just because it summed up pretty much all the recommended trends for the next fall season but because it hinted to a certain well – deserved rest after four weeks of runway marathons.
Pajamas and sleepwear comfort on the very catwalk. That can only be sustained by the likes of Marc Jacobs and Miuccia Prada. But whereas seasons past pajamas involved some heavy mix of prints, mainly geometric, now it’s all about the little flowers and the pretty lace or the nice glitter dips.
I loved the gradient feel of so many items Marc sent down the catwalk. There was that subdued vintage air everyone had to work with this season. Every designer tried to make old new and old again and so did Jacobs with his Louis Vuitton collection. Even the pretty platforms looked weathered while the glitter ombre felt more like some magical moth devoured the fabric and spit some pixie dust on it instead.
There was a certain mysterious fashion silence to this collection, a hunted air of suspicious style, all, undoubtedly converging towards a bestselling happy end.
Oh, and those Louis Vuitton fall bags? Looked like the good ladies were carrying their favorite pet cat’s fur which had gone to heaven but left the good fur behind… Yes, atrocious, I know. But I can’t ignore this strange feeling & look to Marc Jacobs’ new Louis Vuitton collection. I blame it on the horrifying wigs…
I’m happy everyone will get to concentrate on the clothes now that Kate Moss was all covered when she closed the show. No cellulite on display, no indiscrete hotpants this time! Vuitton’s sleepy hotel themed collection was pretty sleepwalk display of nice clothes your grand – grandmother used to wear! What? it’s been a while, we can all pretend it’s new and never seen before, can’t we? Just like we can pretend we didn’t just see Marc Jacobs running around in some red pajamas saying he hadn’t worn anything else for weeks!
