So here we are, a day further into the Haute Couture Spring 2013 season, talking about Raf Simons’ creations for Christian Dior’s Spring 2013 Couture collection.
As news about Dior’s former creative, John Galliano fly around, settling him in Oscar de la Renta’s design chair, Raf Simons’ path chez Dior seems paved with flowers. Official reviews haven’t been penned yet, but surely this collection, as the ones before, will receive a warm and enthusiastic fashion welcome.
And in all justice, for the collection is particularly feminine and elegant, as you’ll see for yourself from the 12 looks I’ve picked to discuss about. Here they come, in no particular order: (images Marcus Tondo / InDigitalteam / GoRunway; styledotcom)
{1} flowers panels top & black pants: because it’s not really spring until you wear it on you!
{2} red coat, flowers top & black pants: because Little Red Riding Hood was actually wearing Dior!
{3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9} flowers appliqué dresses: because one dress with flowers appliqué is not enough, two dresses with flowers appliqué definitely sound better than one! And seven is clearly better than two!
{10, 11} petals appliqué dresses: because we need a little variation, of course!
{12} striped gown: because you need striped clothes during the warm season.
