Johnny Cash God’s Gonna Cut You Down

Have I ever told you how much I like Johnny Cash’s music? I do. I sooooo do! And maybe it’s not even his music that I like but his voice? The man had this amazing, unearthly voice that can reach deep within me. It’s something Justin Bieber could never do (ha!).

Johnny Cash’s version of God’s Gonna Cut You Down will always be my favorite rendition of the popular song! I realize the message can come as pretty radical for this special time, however, I’m hoping you’ll still appreciate the song for its musical value and also for the famous faces that were brought together for the video! Ladies and gents, Johnny Cash!

Have you recognized the faces? Can you make a short countdown of the participants? Around 40, give or take! Forty stars in their own right, mainly from the musical field. Johnny’s version was included on the American V: A Hundred Highways from 2006 and was awarded with a Grammy Award in 2008 for the Best Short Form Music Video and most recently you may have heard it on True Grit’s trailer soundtrack. (if you’re already familiar with the movie, you can watch the trailer here)

You know I was saying that I will get to the “finally” part of the celebration spirit getting a hold of us? A week ago, today, we had some troubles with our daughter – she wasn’t feeling well. We went to the hospital with her and discovered she couldn’t hear us well anymore (despair!) because she was suffering from Otitis Media (which is mainly an inflammation / infection right behind the ear drum). Although it’s pretty common in children, it’s the first one in our four – kids household (crossing our fingers and praying for it to be the last we’ll ever deal with again!). Anyway, after a couple of dark, desperate days, we were back on track Monday, hoping and religiously following the doctor’s orders and prescriptions. Now we’re supposed to check back next week, see how the treatment went, but she’s much better now. And so are we. And very thankful for that! So you see, Johnny Cash isn’t all that random choice after all! (wink)

You love Johnny Cash? Ahh….I worship Johnny Cash! I own so many Johnny Cash albums and also all the American recordings.
Johnny is able to make, no, he was able to make every song sound great didn’t he? Johnny is a Saint! Bows……I gotta run but I watch the video later. Of course I will. :)

Thanks so much for paying attention to one of the greatest singers and men that ever has been around on planet Earth. If there’s a heaven he’s an uber angel now. I am sure…..:)) :*

Never saw this video. It’s great. Regonized everyone.

I think the lyrics are not that radical, still realistic these days. Thanks so much for posting this Kpriss :)

*Sorry I got cut off suddenly & couldn’t finish what I started above*

Anyway its a great video to watch after the hectic Sunday I had. Love Johnny Cash too. Thanks Kpriss and great to know your little one is doing okay. Poor girl…its really unpleasant to go through an Otitis even for an adult so she’s a brave little girl.

Kpriss, was the piece about your little girl there last Friday? If so I feel deeply ashamed I did not pay any attention…..especially to her….:((
Therefore I am ever so glad to read she’s doing better. I have had a lot of ear trouble. Still do. It was so hard as a child to get through such a thing since I do recognize the symptoms…..

Keeps my fingers crossed and send love and good vibes to that special girl and you all….<3

She, your daughter is going to be well, because she is surrounded by the love of your family and she has good care! I am happy to hear that she is much better! : )

This is wonderful! You all like the great Man in Black! yaaaay! He was quite something! Dollybird, I could never have said it better! They’re all gone – sigh!

Last week, actually, I couldn’t do the break. We were swamped in despair since Friday evening we noticed she wasn’t hearing us anymore. It was… how should I put it? agonizing! It took us three days to regain ourselves and the confidence that it’s all going to be fine. Hopefully Tuesday, for our checkup, the nice doctor will only give us good news (crossing our fingers and praying). (I’ll keep you posted anyway!)

Please do keep us up to date about your little one Kpriss, and like I said I am confident she will be well soon.
You are all in my prayers!

A BIG HUG TO YOU ALL! : )
