When I first heard Beyonce was going to the Met Ball, I said wow! There it goes, the House of Dereon joins the festivities to honor McQueen and for a little bit of harmless self promotion! Then I heard rumors that she will be wearing Tom Ford (given she walked for his women’s collection). Then that she’ll be honoring McQueen herself, by wearing a dress from the label.
All that flew right out the window when the real reports were submitted revealing that Beyonce’s dress was by Pucci’s Peter Dundas. Altered beyond recognition and season placement, Beyonce’s black sequined dress was in the all too familiar mermaid shape she loves so much. But wait, what’s wrong with it? She can’t walk the stairs? Standing still the dress is a work of art, but if you cannot move and enjoy yourself in it, why bother?

I enjoy Beyonce the recording artist & she is my husband’s #1 celebrity crush but her fashion choices are tragic. She looks extremely uncomfortable.
All in all, I always asked myself why she has this mermaid obsession! I mean she looks gorgeous no matter what she puts on, instead, for official events of this magnitude she always opts for a mermaid silhouette. Which, like this one, can prove tricky…
