Ashley Olsen Does Marie Claire September 2009

From childhood heroes and children movies professionals, the petites Olsen twins have moved up to fashion. At such a high level, one of them even makes a Fall Fashion Issue cover and we all find it to be a normal appearance.

Launching a fashion-anything is so easy once you’re famous. Having a world of admirers and followers could be just the result of having grew up with the twins, practically, so they don’t have to work on the trust issue anymore. They’re certified gold. (the story continues right after the jump with more images)

Having a fashion label (Elizabeth and James, the Row) isn’t quite where they want to stop and how they want to be remembered. They want the people to know that they were born with an extra fashion gene. So that makes their DNA a very stylish one! Well, good for them, and congrats for having crossed the meltdown threshold, like other child stars who worked the celeb status while growing up. But that trust issue won’t cloud my fashion judgment and I surely feel ambivalent about the fashion DNA… Could that be possible? Or it’s just Marie-Claire talk?

Marie Claire talk though I’m not really sure since it has been years I’ve read that magazine.
But I begin to take Ashley serious. I’ve read somewhere that she’s so passionate about their line and the work that she wants to quit acting and focus only on her/their fashion line(s). I would take her more serious if she would use a real model instead of posing herself and do a proper fashion education too. Talent is necessary but knowing your craft, because that’s what it is, is even more important.

I am not a Olsen follower, and this fashion gene thing is just too lame sounding. I know that they say that they love fashion but I too wish that they would stay a bit behind the scenes. Having famous fashion designer friends and penning a book called “Influence” does not convince me or convert me. I do wish them luck with it though. Oh and like Adriana said they should get a fashion education. If they did that I think I would be a bit more inclined to take them seriously.
