Though it may sound like complete madness, it’s true! Someone, somewhere (and not over the rainbow but right here, on our very dear Earth), present time, stopped a magazine from being published because Kate Moss was on the cover. Topless! Monsters Children (out Friday) will have to change the original cover picture.
The pictures they prevented from spreading was taken by Hedi Slimane and it previously made the ups and downs of the esteemed fashblogosphere (and newsstands, biensur) with Libération. (the story continues right after the jump!)
Photographed by Hedi Slimane for a special celebration: Woman’s Day (in France), Kate Moss half-undressed, dechirée, desenchantée and whatevé else was an honorable sight in Europe. Stateside, however, it’s another story! Moster Children it’s a seven-year old subculture magazine that was hoping to breakthrough with their 23rd issue, The Photo Issue featuring topless Kate Moss on the cover. But no-oh! The editors put a stop to that and ordered Monster Children to put some clothes on Kate! (I would’ve made something with that cigarette too, since the photo’s going for the crop anyway!) Take that, Europe! (the topless cover will, however, be available in selected bookstores and for some lucky subscribers – more details here) (via)
