I was reading something very interesting the other day – an overwhelming percentage of people look up to celebrity style. Meaning if the Hollywood walk of fame wears a polka dot dress with tartan above the knee boots (it’s just an example, but it goes that far!) the unusual combination will instantly become a smashing hit and everyone’s wardrobe (and his dog’s) will be upgraded to the new celebrity-polka-dot-tartan.1.1.
It’s like the celebrity outfit software being installed in the world’s wardrobe. Well, let’s fuel them dressings!
Katie Holmes changed her up until now hauntingly ugly bag obsession with a slick, beautiful one. Black still, but beautiful! Roger Vivier Mikado Flat Bag is Katie’s new arm darling. You can buy the same one for $2,275 or a smaller version for $1,325. This Mikado Flat Bag in black python is from the designer’s fall-winter 2008 2009 collection. I haven’t seen her (from the latest candids) matching it with her Roger Vivier shoes, but she surely made an obsession out of Roger Vivier. Its a nice looking bag but I would not buy it,and to tell you the truth as much as Katie could afford it with Tom’s money I am sure she didn’t buy it either. I am sure it was “gifted” to her by the designer.
I totally agree with Ellington.She’s flooded with freebies from designers and this bag was her flavour of the moment.I’ll bet she hardly ever spends money on clothes and accessories.
I think that the bag is lovely, though I’m not sure that I’d buy it based on the shape – not very me!
I’m all for looking up to celebrities for fashion ideas – I’m not saying I’d copy everything – but as the others point out, they have the connections to the designers and they get the clothes out in the public eye, so sometimes, it may just be common sense to copy them!
Kpriss, you know me by now I guess? I do not look up to celebrity style at all. They don’t impress me. Money, stylists, freebies (I agree with the girls) and what more….how difficult is that to look at your best? I’m impressed by the look of the girls in the street. And as so often, best example is Kate La Moss (as her name is on this blog)! These women are just all the time in public eye….
Oh, I like the bag but its not even an option to consider to upgrade my wardrobe Roger Vivier stuff LOL!
Katie does buy her clothes and expensive purses with Tom’s money. She’s always out shopping. She doesn’t need freebies. Tom likes them to come across like royalty. Just look at how expensive Suri’s cloths are.

También la hemos visto con los zapatos del diseñador, pero eso no le basta, a Suri su hija le han creado unos zapatos exclusivos iguales y del mismo tono, que no son comercializados. Ahora he llegado a la conclusión que la obsesión de Katie es por el diseñador Roger Vivier!
