Victoria Beckham Latest Scary Ad for Marc Jacobs

She’s no beauty queen, that’s for sure, but Victoria has managed to keep the controversy alive around her little figure over the years.

Tastefully dressed or wrongfully outfitted, she creates an impression, nonetheless. When the first prints of the Marc Jacobs Advertising Campaign were issued, it was a complete surprise. The ads were funny, catchy, it all worked fine with her. This new print, however, raised my eyebrows pretty high!

Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs Ad Campaign - Crocodile Bag

I guess what she’s trying to say is that no matter the clothes, that handbag’s all you need. So she proves it by wearing a potato sack instead of a dress, showing a pink bra matching nothing (ok, maybe the lipgloss on her trademark pout). I have no idea what those curtain straps are doing there but I’m convinced she’s wearing a necklace around her waist! That aside it’s her hair doing the main damage – feathered fringe teletubbied with a bow! Exquisite! Does she look pretty to you? Or at least funny?

It all looks a bit strange to me. I don’t think it makes her look very good and something about the picture makes the bag look a bit cheap, and I know it isn’t in real life. I get the concept, but I prefer the other ones.

Killahbabe, we had a discussion about the new ads of MJ on the style.com forum. This one was the main reason, VB looks cheap and ugly and above all what is MJ and his team trying to say with this ad. I think you said it all, I find it an humiliating ad not only for MJ but above all for VB. Okay she only goes for the money but hasn’t she any selfrespect?? Ciao

Maybe it’s a new culture we don’t really see – self disrespect in the name of the fashion. Or friendship? It’s (sad to say it so) a prostitute attitude for fashion’s sake.
