A New Face of Hilary Swank in W Magazine

For the January issue of W Magazine, Hilary Swank takes a stroll along the Hitchock avenue and delivers a noir photoshoot along with a long interview that I’ll quickly review for you.

She’s not one of the actresses close to my heart, but I do admit, she’s got a strong acting going on. The thing I found shocking about the W interview was her appetite for pills. It seems she takes about 45 supplements a day for various reasons:

Here’s my flax. This one’s for my immune system, and this one is my BrainWave—it’s great, like if I have a lot of lines to memorize.

Rihanna for H&M Fashion Against AIDS

A new HIV/AIDS awareness campaign is launched.

This time it’s signed by H&M with help from several designers, musicians and artists (Rihanna, Chicks on Speed, Good Charlotte, Henrik Vibskov, Jade Jagger, Katharine Hamnett, My Chemical Romance, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, The Cardigans, Tiga, Timbaland and Ziggy Marley).

Rihanna H&M Fashion Against Aids

Since 22million young people (15-24 years of age) are hiv positive and H&M targets the young clients (especially with their Divided brand under which this collection will be sold) it’s only natural that they engage in such an awareness campaign.

It’s Piaget Time for Fashion

Piaget Miss Protocole hits the catwalk. Doo-Ri Chung designed 4 watchbands for the classic Piaget Miss Protocole watch.

The Limited Edition is very limited since the production line counts only 2 pieces for each model (at a price ranging from $11.400 to $31.500).

Piaget Doo-Ri Miss Protocole

Doo-Ri had a previous collaboration with Piaget for the spring 2007 fashion show when she received more than $1million worth of diamonds to match her dresses for the show. For this special release of Piaget Miss Protocole watchbands she found inspiration in the Korean artisanal work (the woodwork of Kol Kim) and so she proposed two lacquered teak with mother-of-pearl inlays, a tan lizard one with an overlay of delicate 18k gold strands and the last one from silky tassel-like fringe (to wear dangling or wrapped into a cuff) with diamonds across its yellow gold face.

Puma Reality Bag – The 2008 IT Bag

The word is, there’s a new It Handbag for 2008. And that Handbag would cost $1.400. And that Handbag would come from Puma and be available from January 2008 worldwide (some sources even say March 2008 but I play optimistic).

In collaboration with London’s Serpentine Gallery, Puma created The Reality Bag not only to become the next fashion it but also with a higher purpose – each bag sold would raise $100 for the Serpentine Gallery’s Education and Public Programs.

Short History of The Famous Chanel 2.55 Bag

Like I promised in an earlier article, here is the story of Chanel Reissue 2.55 handbag.

It caught my attention because I’m very fond of things that have their little piece of history. It makes them sort of ‘alive’ with a personality of their own (one of the reasons I’m a vintage hunter myself).
Here it comes:

Chanel 2.55 and Reissue Bags

The 2.55 handbag bears that particular name simply because it was originally issued in February 1955. Her features have all a piece of tale to tell. From the inside out: Read more…

My Spring-Summer 2008 Wishlist 3.1Philip Lim and 6267

Today I thought it would be a good idea to start a new series.
A catwalk inspired wishlist to reunite all the 2008 spring-summer fashion shows in one humongous wishlist both informative and inspirational.

Let me introduce you to the first episode: Philip Lim and 6267.

3 1 philip lim

Philip Lim’s spring-summer 2008 is a ready for travel collection with Amelia Earhart as inspiration. As for the collection itself, I found it rather casual. The zebra printed sandal looked so fit for the street, I just had to show it to you. The red oversize handbag is lovely! I treasure these messenger bags that give me freedom to run around after the kids (plus I have to stuff them with diapers and toys).

Chanel Gives Jessica Alba the Baby BLUEs

When I’ve seen the picture first I thought it was such a beautiful bag, exactly how I like them, to contrast the outfit, especially in winter time when everybody’s wearing black and gray. I tried to find it over the internet (spent most of yesterday searching for that handbag) and couldn’t. All night long I just dreamed about this purse so today I decided that I’ll write about it no matter what!

I’ll just pass the history lesson (amazing, by the way, I promise to post it down soon!) and get to the point.

Jessica Alba Blue Chanel Bag Jessica Alba Blue Chanel Handbag

This gorgeous blue Chanel bag is, I suspect, a Chanel Classic Flap Bag in Jumbo size (the price of a Jumbo bag is around $2.000 plus $100 more for the lambskin) or a Chanel Reissue 2.55 X-Large (costing app $3.100 and very rare to find). If you happen to know better, please give me a hand, it’s being haunting me for over 2 days now.

In the mean time I’ll just look at the pictures with the mom-to-be sporting a burgeoning Baby Bump and a Blue Chanel.

Update: Our reader isabella identified this bag as the Soft and Chain Flap. Thank you isabella!

Fashionista’s Guide to a Perfect Manicure

..or how to manage your manicure so you won’t end up like Mary Kate Olsen barefoot in LA because she was just given a manicure-pedicure.

Being a star is such a big deal that doing your own nails is out of the question! And from what we can see, flip flops are out of the question too!

Mary Kate Olsen Barefoot
Ever found yourself in a rush needing to be tip-top for an important appearance and find your nail polish all chipped off? I know I had!

Ever sat down for a good manicure and just a second after, with extreme care, your nail polish was perfectly painted on your beautiful nails, you absolutely had to answer the phone which was, conveniently, in your purse?

Ever wanted to let your nail polish dry and a minute later messed it all because the kids were just wrecking the kitchen?

After days and days of trying and sometimes succeeding, I finally get to have my nails done properly. By myself. I do confess, it’s only happening when the kids are asleep, but hey, who has time to go to a manicure? I sure don’t! If I have extra time, I’d rather spend it with you ;).

Anyway, here’s my idea of a successful “do it yourself” manicure:

1. First of all, you need to get all the ingredients at hand. Paper towels, nail polish remover, cotton pads, lime, nail polish (I suggest you get not one nail polish, but 3! A base coat to ensure the protection of your nail, a nail polish coat that is, in fact, your colored nail polish and third and the most important – the top coat to protect your perfect manicure!).
