Auction(red) by Bono and Damien Hirst for Valentine’s Day
February 3rd, 2008 by kpriss
A good deed must never go unmarked! This (and let’s face it, the love of art too) is the reason I’m writing an article about a Sothebys auction.
“Art has many definitions and many definers…who would be reckless enough to try? But the prophetic utterance is a large part of the reason why I am interested in Art. Art speaks to the future, prepares you for the future, and sometimes even invites you to the future.”
Gucci Loves New York Campaign Fashionable Paper Cups
February 3rd, 2008 by kpriss
Part of the Gucci’s love of New York campaign, an ode to the city where Gucci first opened its doors in 1953 and meant to promote the world’s largest flagship store at 725 Fifth Avenue opening in February is yet another product besides scarves and handbags.
The Gucci Paper Coffee Cup will be distributed to 150 coffee carts between Third and Sixth Avenues from 42nd Street to 59th Street from Monday.
I’m not a fan of starbucks-ing or anything related (yeah, that’s killing my celebrity chances.. all those paparazzi not spotting me mornings or evenings or anything in between picking up my cup of coffee!) but this paper cup is special.
Besides that it’s all about paper, thus not a very lasting material, that Gucci logo all over it makes it so meaningless and meaningful at same time!
Fashion’s degradable and just as lasting as a paper cup. For the sake of the environment be careful when throwing it away!
Luckily, the proceeds from the “Gucci Loves NY” products will be donated entirely to Playground Partners and Patrons of the Central Park Conservancy (going towards the care and maintenance of the playgrounds in Central Park).
Do you really think it was a good idea? Branding Gucci on a paper coffee cup?

Jolie’s Special Outfit for the Santa Barbara Film Festival
February 3rd, 2008 by kpriss
How desperately out of style can one be to hugely misstep on the Red Carpet not even a week away?
Soon I will be having no more comments to add when posting a new Jolie Red Carpet sighting. For now, this new picture reminds me only one thing – The Pixies song “Where is my Mind” (in fact, you can find it posted after the glorious picture. It was featured, actually, on the original Soundtrack of one of my cult movies – Fight Club. Pure coincidence, with Brad Pitt. Hopefully we’ll get plenty occasion to discuss my movies and music preferences, for now I’ll just stick to “Where is my mind”).
Oh, just for the record – Jolie who was not so jolie for the occasion received an award “Outstanding Performance of the Year”.
How can you actually wear such an outfit and know you’ll get an award, so you’ll be in the very spotlight (not that she would be out of the spotlight usually)?
Marc Jacobs And Louis Vuitton Screening
February 3rd, 2008 by kpriss
Loic Pringent’s documentary “Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton” at the Tribeca Grand Hotel was the opportunity to make celebrities wear their soirée gowns and discuss around Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, his talent, his passion for cereal bars (shoes, handbags, whatever).
What I cannot really understand is why this documentary will be shown on the Sundance Channel.
Disneyland Dream Suite Tour
February 1st, 2008 by kpriss
Disneyland opened up the Dream Suite yesterday for awarding purposes. The lucky random winner of a stay in the Disney Dream Suite is supposed to check in at 3 p.m. (family included), receiving a complimentary dinner at the Blue Bayou, serve as grand marshals of the day’s parade and take a two hour after-hours tour of the park.
Disney has its own ways of saying that it’s ok to be childish again, even if the Dream Suite is estimated at $3 million and it measures 2.600 square foot.
Each room of the two bedroom, two-bathroom suite originally intended for Walt Disney himself corresponds to a land in the Anaheim theme park:
Teri Hatcher and Ashton Kutcher Promoting Baume et Mercier Watches
February 1st, 2008 by kpriss
Charity is a fashion nowadays. Baume et Mercier, the famous watches company, contracted two celebrities for the 2008 advertising campaign.
The copyrights from this campaign (both for Ashton Kutcher and Teri Hatcher but also for the photographers – Robert Erdmann and Jim Wright) are donated for charity (supporting anti-cancer fights, children education rights).
At least we don’t get to see how desperately thin Teri is in this picture. I for one feel the shivers whenever I get to see a picture of her oh-so-skinny-figure. Ashton looks as casual as ever making luxury seem almost normal. What do you think? Who’s better to represent Baume & Mercier? Teri or Ashton?

Karl Lagerfeld to Become a Steiff Teddy Bear
February 1st, 2008 by kpriss
Now this is an example of disturbing news! Steiff, the worldwide renowned teddy bear German producer is set to transform Karl Lagerfeld into one cuddly bear!
Because I barely dare to imagine a stuffed plush teddy bear with dark sunglasses and a Chanel attitude, I just hope my kids won’t let eyes on that particular teddy bear and especially don’t fall for it! It would be so cruel for my sense of respect for fashion!
What do you think about Steiff’s Karl Lagerfeld Teddy Bear idea? Love it or hate it? Don’t forget to vote after the pictures, maybe we still have time to stop this from happening!

Hayden Panettiere’s Old Skirt for Old Navy Celebration
February 1st, 2008 by kpriss
It’s a short one – just to inform you that Hayden’s done it again! She carefully search her wardrobe for the famous black pencil skirt to make a breathtaking appearance for the New Year, New Old Navy celebration event.
Same Old Skirt, same Old Shoes, same Young Hayden. What do you think? Should she change her style into something more young-ish? Or that really fits her perfectly?
Update: here you can see I’m not the only one reaching out for change in Hayden’s case ;)
