Fall 2009 AdRumors – Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, YSL
April 23rd, 2009 by kpriss
Things are not looking brighter on Wall Street, smart marketing strategies must be adopted in order to cheat in the money for the luxury goods market.
Jennifer Connelly returns in Balenciaga’s posters and Madonna in Louis Vuitton’s. Fall/Winter 2009/2010 ad campaigns road looks so much like the magazines covers we’ve been fighting against for so long: non-models modelling.
Luckily there’s Victoria’s Secret Angel Adriana Lima for Givenchy Fall 2009 (she must have stirred some spirits with that Givenchy catwalk to have been retained as their face for the Fall 2009 ad campaign)!
As for the supersdom: back from the glory days, we’ll have Christy Turlington chez Yves Saint Laurent! (wwd, fashionologie, photo via)

Coco Avant Chanel Smokin’ Poster Banned In Paris
April 23rd, 2009 by kpriss
While fashion adorers worldwide impatiently await Coco Avant Chanel, the movie, lucky Parisians who already have the chance to see the movie in theaters starting April 22 (yesterday), noticed a morally dubious poster adorning their ad spaces: Le poster de Coco Avant Chanel where Audrey’s character, Coco, holds a cigarette.
It may not look as offensive for Coco fans (given she smoked more than 2packs/day) but I think the French authorities did the right thing by banning this poster in Paris. (the story continues right after the jump, with pictures of the alternative posters for Coco avant Chanel)

Taylor Momsen Has A Nylon May 2009 Moment
April 23rd, 2009 by kpriss
Taylor Momsen by Guy Aroch for Nylon Magazine May 2009 has that Nylon detail that’ll make you forget we’re talking about a 15-years old girl. Taylor was put on the fashion pedestal and dolled up by every-fashion-one, but she’s still so young! What will become of her in her 20s? 30s?
The world was in Debbie Harry-starvation and when Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen came along, she was the oasis they were all waiting for. A younger Blondie Debbie, just as blond, just as fashionable. But highly questionable. (the story continues after the jump with more pictures!)
Kat Dennings, Olivia Thirlby In Nylon May 2009
April 23rd, 2009 by kpriss
Have you (really) seen (young) people dressed like that on a regular daily basis? Risky business, Nylon!
I may not be too hip to dig it, but it seems Sprouse & the 80s took the cover of May’s Nylon and made a salad out of it. I guess styling up a magazine cover is not an easy task, and I don’t expect to see them on inStyle or Allure anytime soon so I can admire them dressed up like normal people, but I can’t tell feel those neon-outfits on Kat and Olivia. Can you? (the story continues right after the jump, don’t miss the gallery with Kat&Olivia’s pictures from Nylon!)
London’s Scary Anti-Graffiti Campaign
April 23rd, 2009 by kpriss
Comparing graffiti to a wall figurative disease has taken a face: a Brit teenage girl is pictured covered in tags and graffiti with the slogan: “Sick of graffiti? We’ve got the cure.” And a telephone number where you can report the wall-vandals. And you know what? Graffiti was cut down by 25%! (via AnimalNY)

Penelope Cruz Ads For Mango Summer 2009
April 22nd, 2009 by kpriss
Winning an Oscar doesn’t make Penelope Cruz forget her fashion gigs. She still has a line (with her sister) chez giant retailer Mango and now her Summer 2009 ad campaign pictures have surfaced.
With her heavy makeup on and her pretty clothes, Penelope Cruz could easily score a high street fashion Oscar too! Looking at her designs, I don’t have the intrusive feeling of going through her closet, like I do in Kate Moss Topshop case. And since I haven’t lost my taste for dresses and classic-like, timeless outfits, I find her designs most interesting! (but where’s her lil’sis?) (don’t miss the gallery with Penelope Cruz photos from her latest Mango campaign right after the jump!) (photos via)

Dockers Shakeable iPhone Ad
April 22nd, 2009 by kpriss
The world’s first Shakeable Ad just got viral: Dockers advertises for iPhone applications, using iPhone‘s accelerometer’s interactive advantages to promote the Dockers pants versatility.
(it’s like a breath of fresh air in an endless ocean of celeb-in-advertising!) Hoping this kind of innovative promotion is the next step up in marketing evolution, I’m impatiently waiting for Marc Jacobs doing a Cancan (with or without Kate Moss) for his next collection’s ad campaign! What would be the interactive shakeable ad of your dreams? (via)
