Daisy Lowe’s Oiseau De Nuit Collection For Morgan
July 25th, 2010 by kpriss
Because we haven’t had a celebrity clothing line in quite a while, there goes the young Daisy Lowe with her own personal vision of a successful wardrobe. She designed a capsule collection for the French brand Morgan under the title Oiseau de Nuit (night owl).
Hardly impressed by her collection and/or her makeup, I don’t feel the fashion urge that has pushed her into designing this collection (or Morgan for having chose her as a celebrity designer). Set to hit stores this November, the collection has little appeal for the prices it promises (from $31 a necklace to $440 the leather catwoman suit). Daisy, you should’ve asked for fashion advice from your stepmom (Gwen Stefani, that is)! (via)

Crystal Renn Still A Plus Size Model
July 23rd, 2010 by kpriss
Plus size model Crystal Renn (who got there because of her anorexia troubles) welcomed back exercise into her life, after seven years. That’s a healthy attitude and we applaud it.
The first direct consequence of that decision was Crystal Renn losing weight. Which was unacceptable since she’s a true example for plus size women out there: she’s bearing the weight of the model world on her shoulders. Non-zero-sized women out there rely on her and her statements. However, when photos of Fashion for Passion appeared, Crystal looked way thinner than what we were ready to accept from a plus size model. (don’t miss the video right after the jump!)

Meet The Hilfigers In Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall Winter 2010 2011 Ad Campaign
July 23rd, 2010 by kpriss
Heavy packing, heavy on beauty and fashion, the Hilfigers is a fictional family portrayed in Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall-Winter 2010/2011 ad campaign. Photographed by Craig McDean, the campaign looks lovely with a pinch of bourgeois.
I must admit I love the over-the-knee boots, they stand out, regardless the busy imagery. Also, if you’ve seen that the family portrait of the so-called “Hilfigers” is shown on an iPad, please note I had nothing to do with it! It’s a cute ad, all in all, wouldn’t you agree? Halle Berry Joins Shoes Addicts Anonymous
July 23rd, 2010 by kpriss
It may sound like your typical tabloid title, but it’s far from being so. Halle Berry is taking a pause from being completely adorable on the playground with her completely adorable daughter and she’ll be starring in a movie. In a movie about shoes.
Shoes Addicts Anonymous is about a group of women and their obsession for shoes. And Halle said she relates to that. And that she’s funny. So she wants the part. So she got it. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope she won’t turn this best-selling novel adaptation into a catwoman flop. For the love of shoes! (and because we love Halle so much, we couldn’t stand the thought of her destroying her inner fashionista. On screen) (via, image via)
Amber Valletta’s Jimmy Choo Fall Winter 2010 2011 Ad Campaign
July 23rd, 2010 by kpriss
I’d like to start by saying that Amber Valletta is one of my favorite faces out there. From the supers (and more) era. Her transition to acting was brilliant and she was just as insightful as an actress. However, we’re talking about Amber the model now.
She’s doing the fall-winter 2010/2011 campaign for Jimmy Choo. With a majority of black (shoes and accessories plus the Dolce & Gabbana clothes), she really stands out. It’s a low-budget ad, betting all on Amber’s charms to fill in the hotel corner space she seems to have been photographed in. Does she pull it off? (in my view better than Angela Lindvall did) (via)
Giuseppe Zanotti Leopard Booties
July 23rd, 2010 by kpriss
There was a time, during last year’s heavy recession wave, when the fashion world was doomed with somber predictions. The high heel, as we know it, towering and empowering was set to disappear, making place to the low-heel (as best illustrated by glamorous First Ladies of the world: Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni Sarkozy).
Luckily for us, the predictions were far from being accurate. Not only the high heel still lives a long, successful life, but also high beauties like these Giuseppe Zanotti platform leopard boots were brought to light. The booties, part of the fall-winter 2010/2011 collection look as feline as shoes-ly possible and they’d make a wonderful addition to any plain outfit. Wouldn’t you agree? (of course, we should also take into consideration that beauty comes with a price. And for the Giuseppe Zanotti foal platform leopard boots, the tag reads $1,169. Grrrr)
Balenciaga FW 2010 2011 Ad Campaign – Redheads Power
July 23rd, 2010 by kpriss
The Chonicles of Riddick.. ahem Balenciaga feature so many models for this fall-winter 2010/2011 and a majority of reds – red skies, redheads, red. Studio shots, all of them, signed Steven Meisel, the images stand out because of those shoes everybody seems to be obsessing on.
However, I have a special note for Stella Tennant who is starring in Balenciaga Fall campaign also – she’ll always be a favorite of mine (alongside Stella, you’ll notice Karen Elson, Freja Beha Erichsen, Meghan Collison, Eliza Cummings, Mirte Maas, Julija Stepanoviciute, Kirsi Pyrhönen). Is anyone else deranged by that aggressive red background? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (via)
