Stiletto Protector. Would You?
November 8th, 2010 by kpriss
Above any fashion madness (or maybe just because of that fashion has reached the madness levels), there’s got to be some kind of fashion madness heaven (or hell), some kind of bonus level you only get access to if you’ve got your all – stars mastered in fashmadness.
So there’s where I would place these Stiletto Protectors – in that above fashmadness sacred place we’re offered a glitz at every now and then. I bet you know that special place too – reach deep down inside of you and think of at least one example of plastic – covered sofa or plastic – covered remote control or mobile phone (I’m sure there’s more, be kind enough to widen my plastic – covered objects horizons, please! I’m so curious to find out what people plasti – mummify these days!). So – I guess it only comes down to this – would you put these “devices” on to protect your stilettos heels? (uptoyoutoronto via)

Katy Perry’s Harper’s Bazaar US December 2010
November 6th, 2010 by kpriss
Why this? Because although I’m a rocker at heart, a trip – hop-er by inspiration, a jazz lover by passion and oh-so many others, I enjoy keeping au jour with the current music events. And Katy Perry seems to be quite a musical happening nowadays. More so – it’s challenging for me, as an outsider, to write about something like this. It brings a fresh perspective on things. Sometimes.
Some other times, it brings just the usual. Like this Harper’s Bazaar December 2010 cover. Who would be tempted to get inside an issue that’s starting like that (you can admire the dullness of the newsstands cover right after the jump)? It’s not inviting not even for a Katy Perry fan. Who’s supposedly attracted by her ice cream cones performances and not her polished, un-cartoonish looks. Either way, here’s what I found to be more interesting: the subscribers cover. Not astonishingly original, far from it, but quite the cover, in comparison with the newsstands one! (click through to discover more!)

Ready For Hello Kitty Reebook Plush Sneakers?
November 6th, 2010 by kpriss
After melting over Dr Martens Hello Kitty’s collection, it’s time for yet another Kitty heart breaking items – Reebok Plush Kitty sneakers : plush Hello Kitty sneakers made in collaboration with Reebok.
I may not be the biggest Hello Kitty fan, but these plush sneakers look adorable! Be it in white, pink or black, the $150 kicks are available in Japan only (for now) and I’m officially staking I want a pair of each. Just for my wardrobe’s pleasure. (and yes, I do believe there’s life beyond high heels shoes! And yes, I’m not ashamed to admit I love my velour juicy pants and I think they’d be a match in heaven for the new Reebok Plush Kitty sneakers! What? A lady can be comfy, can’t she?) (Rakuten via)
Marion Cotillard Is Lady Dior Lady Grey London
November 6th, 2010 by kpriss
Remember Marion Cotillard as Lady Dior? It seems there’s a new episode coming up next – Lady Dior Lady Grey London. And here’s a preview of the actual campaign.
I have to admit she’s looking pretty different this time with her hair styled like that. Almost like she wouldn’t even be Marion Cotillard anymore but someone else. Someone different. Someone Grey? Anyhow, the lady is looking impeccable as usual and I’m loving her look and her attitude vis-à-vis this (entire) Dior campaign. Curious for more Grey? (there’s nothing more on their website, but I’m impatiently waiting also!)

Ashlee Simpson’s New Short Haircut
November 6th, 2010 by kpriss
So that pixie thing is definitely catching up with Hollywood’s young celeb blood? Ashlee Simpson (I never quite understood what made this girl famous besides being the younger sister of Jessica Simpson) got the short hair bug and cut her hair to a Twiggy-esque blonde do.
The real trouble is that all those adopting the new short haircut seem to think of themselves to be sweeter all of a sudden, just because their long locks are gone. What’s wrong with assuming who you really are? (supposing these young ladies do know who they really are). The haircut doesn’t cut your personality also. Getting back to Twiggy-head Ashlee – how do you feel about her new do? (photos via)
Scarlett Johansson’s Mango Fall Winter 2010
November 5th, 2010 by kpriss
There’s that time of the year when design collaborations are piling up, ready for the Holidays season extravaganza. We’ve seen Kate Moss, we’ve seen H & M. Now let’s see Mango and their Scarlett Johansson Winter 2010 design moment.
The clothes look great in this advertorial moment, Scarlett herself looks gorgeous, there’s surely a pinch of glittery festive fabric in the mix. In terms of fashion, however, I’m having a hard time understanding what made Scarlett Johansson such an important item style-wise as to have chosen her to design / represent the fast fashion house. I should have asked the same question when we were talking about Penelope and Monica Cruz designing and representing Mango. Is it too late to start doubting the fashion power of the Mango celeb collections? Would it be – in the end – just a matter of cashing in their fame? (photos Mango)

Jessica Alba’s Elle US December 2010
November 5th, 2010 by kpriss
What can you do when you know there’s the white blizzard coming your way in a matter of weeks? Dream of warm, sunny beaches. Right? That’s what the editors of Elle US must have had in mind when they were planning their December 2010 issue layout.
Jessica Alba is the cover girl and it’s all summery and resort-ish (she’s wearing Dior Resort 2011 for the cover shot). The pictorial looks ready for some light fashion content teen-ish magazine, not Elle. Photographed by Carter Smith, Jessica Alba is the Pink Queen of your blizzard-ish December. It’s for all those who wait for Santa while getting a healthy tan on the warm, sunny beach. Breaks up the gold glittery December magazine habits, doesn’t it? (Elle via)

Love Longchamp Pliage Bag
November 5th, 2010 by kpriss
Another year, another Longchamp Pliage bag gets some kind of makeover. Some kind because everyone wants to keep the Pliage iconic shape and just improve or refresh the appearance, the blank canvas that is the coveted Longchamp Pliage bag.
So this time it’s LOVE. Yes, Love magazine went for the Pliage makeover and got it all Love – pink. Because Katie Grand’s favorite color is pink. And because her current Love is her very own fashmagazine, Love. Does it look appealing to you? Would you buy a Love Pliage rather than a simple, Longchamp Pliage classic? Or would you wait for a more inspiring collaboration? (that’s what I’ll do, to be honest) (via)
