Merry Christmas Everyone!
December 25th, 2010 by kpriss
It’s that special time of the year when the only fashion in the air is red and green, with golden and silver accents! There’s no other fashion like it and I love it above any other season!
It’s the Holiday Season! Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you’re all gathered around the Christmas tree with your loved ones, celebrating the joy of sharing and giving in the most wonderful time of the year! I’m happy to spend yet another Christmas with you – our fourth! Right after the jump you’ll find Doris Day’s Silver Bells. A wonderful Christmas classic! (photo via)
Erin Wasson’s Low Luv
December 22nd, 2010 by kpriss
Talking about the fashnicest of them all, here’s Erin Wasson, model extraordinare and fashion designer now turned jewelry designer. After promoting a special grungey attitude towards fashion and fashcreativity, Erin has stepped up her fashion game. Finally.
Showing her true colors, Erin Wasson was pictured by Paola Kudaki wearing her new jewelry line: Low Luv. The Spring/Holiday collection as showcased here by Erin drew inspiration from the new things that she finds interesting and powerful. Thus her collection features Native American inspired pieces and Middle Eastern flavored jewelry. What happened to the homeless chic, Erin? You just had to bling it, eh? (via)
Murakami Versailles, The Book
December 22nd, 2010 by kpriss
Remember when I told you I loved different perspectives of the same thing? Changing the common way we’re used to look around us is something privileged and I for one, I’m absolutely loving it!
When I heard that the palais of Versailles was invaded by Takashi Murakami’s work, I frowned. I though it was a bit too much. Now I know I was wrong (and I’m happy to admit that Murakami changed my perspective over Versailles and all things Murakami). The catalogue of the Murakami Versailles exposition is already sold out chez Colette. Photographed by Cedric Delsaux and published with the Editions Xavier Barral, the books is surprising, funny and would make a great coffee book for art professionals and amateurs alike.
If you’re a fan already, you may get lucky with another similar book: Jeff Koons Versailles. Pop art is getting to me! Do you think this kind of installations brings new fans for the pop art artists? (you can see two images from the Jeff Koons Versailles book right after the jump – the last two; more about Jeff Koons Versailles here; photos via 1, 2)
Tiffany Under The Christmas Tree In Milan
December 22nd, 2010 by kpriss
Milan again, you’d ask! Well yes, it appears that the most interesting things happen in Europe during the Holidays season! The most expensive Christmas tree in Europe ($450,000) was placed atop a Holiday Tiffany Boutique in Milan, Italy.
All sounds great, except the wonderful Christmas tree and the jewelry pop up store were placed in the Piazza Duomo, a step away from the church. Which, of course, sprung numerous negative reactions. Which, of course, were put to peace by Tiffany who will donate 9% of its sales (appx $131,000 minimum) to LILT (nonprofit cancer research organization) and to Venerada Fabbrica del Duomo. Peace and faith through charity. Yay! (via, photos via 1, 2)
Modern Christmas Trees
December 22nd, 2010 by kpriss
I’m an old school girl when it comes to all things Christmas. I like my Christmas tree in the old, traditional way with matching decorations all around the house (and outside twinkling lights too).
However, many do not carry that traditional Christmas tree anymore. (if you’re there, reading these lines, please do share your motivation, it’s always good to know new and varied perspectives) So I came across few non traditional Christmas tree examples and I’m presenting them to you. My favorite, by far, is the Christmas tree made of books! Amazing installation counting 800 books that was even lit from the inside! Wonderful! (via 1, 2)
Baby Porsche 911 And Carrera, The Perfect Gifts For Posh Kids
December 21st, 2010 by kpriss
Have you got everything ready for your loved ones? Wrapped under the Christmas tree, waiting for those who have been nice all year long? Here’s a last minute suggestion: the Baby Porsche!
Baby 911 Speedster or Carrera, the baby Porsche is one posh gift for the posh toddlers. And to be honest, just by the looks of them colored thingies, I’d be a toddler for few minutes too! The thought of driving around in a Porsche is too much to resist! (the Baby Porsche is available here for $105; also, if you’re not into these Porsche bugs, you can always go for a Porsche kids $355 bike – pictured after the jump)
Armani Invests In Milan
December 21st, 2010 by kpriss
The House of Armani is into the Holidays spirit by giving back to the city of Milan. They found something green to invest in: the already existent green zone from the Risorgimento Square.
How much they saw fit for the historical site? About $65,600. Maybe they’ll consider changing the square’s name into Armani’s Square? (although, for this donation, they risk having just two or three trees wearing a tiny plaque with Armani on) (via, photos via)
Gisele Bundchen’s Balenciaga Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign
December 21st, 2010 by kpriss
Change is good, wouldn’t you think? Especially in fashion. Change in the key of positive, that’s how I’d describe Gisele Bundchen’s Spring Summer 2011 campaign for the house of Balenciaga.
Photographed by Steven Meisel and styled by Marie – Amelie Sauve, makeup by Pat McGrath and hair done by Guido Palau, Gisele pulls a new look on us for Balenciaga‘s Summer 2011 . Daring? Pretty much. Catchy? You tell me! (via)
