Hailee Steinfeld’s Miu Miu Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign
June 24th, 2011 by kpriss
Have you seen True Grit? No? You should! And that’s as far as I will go about this. Hailee Steinfeld is brilliant in True Grit.
Which is not the same I can say about the Miu Miu Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign. Though aesthetically impeccable, the Bruce Weber photographed image could be the next big thing. If we were talking about teenage fashion. The fashion industry picking younger and younger spokespersons to carry their fashion message. Doesn’t she look like a child? Lady Gaga By Karl Lagerfeld. Lagerfeld’s Golden iPad
June 24th, 2011 by kpriss
Remember when Karl Lagerfeld said he has no use for computers and he doesn’t own one? He also said once that he has many computer – like gadgets (like iPads) but he doesn’t use those either.
It would appear, though, that the iPad melted Lagerfeld’s heart as not only he owns a golden iPad but he also uses it! He took pictures of Lady Gaga with his iPad! Real art, as you’ll see below in the short video from a French Television program (Le Grand Journal) where both Karl Lagerfeld and Lady Gaga were invited. Totally chic and geek! Loving it! (and just in case the video disappears, I’ve made some screen shots of the legendary happening! you can click here for the gallery!) (via)

Coco Rocha’s Jacobs Fall 2011 No Photoshop Campaign
June 24th, 2011 by kpriss
It’s just the official announcement, but it would appear that the lovely Coco Rocha would be the spokesface of the Jacobs Fall Winter 2011 2012 ad campaign. So far so good, nothing strange in the hood. Only the best part is yet to come: Coco has agreed to the campaign if a no retouching policy is respected.
What does that mean? Well, expect a fashion ad campaign without extra slimming, trimming and whatnots to digitally enhance one’s appearance. Such a wonderful news makes me think there’s still hope! What if all the ads of the world would be unretouched? (via)

H & M Profits Down. New H & M Stores In China
June 24th, 2011 by kpriss
While the financial reports state that H & M profits go down, it would appear that China is not only a new market for the Swedish fast fashion giant retailer but also their hope! For the China market has proved to be a magically profitable one for Hennes and Mauritz.
I won’t put it in percentages and margins, I’ll just stick with the short version: a mild decrease of the profit margin was registered by the H & M stocks so they have to rethink their market approach and concentrate on emerging markets, just like Inditex did (parent company of Zara). I wonder what comes after Versace? I’m sure the next designer will be carefully chosen to meet the new markets aspirations! What do you think? (via; photo via)
Evan Rachel Wood’s New Hair
June 24th, 2011 by kpriss
Summer is here. And with it, the radical hair changes! Evan Rachel Wood was notoriously famous for her long locks, retro glam styled. I can’t believe she cut her hair this short!
She’s undoubtedly gorgeous, with or without long hair, I just can’t understand her sudden change of style! I can’t convince myself to go from long hair to a shoulder length bob, I can’t imagine a pixie cut on me! How do you like Evan better? With long or short hair? (photos via)
Rock Is The New Fashion?
June 23rd, 2011 by kpriss
I would like to submit something to your fashion attention. And more. Something I found very puzzling: remember Daisy Lowe and her new Stephen Webster advertorial engagement?
Here’s what Anastasia Webster, Stephane Webster’s wife and PR for the company: “We’ve known her [Daisy] since she was a child, and we’ve watched her blossom. She’s become a glamorous British rock chick.”. Ummm… what makes a rock star these days? Pedigree only? (via)

Is There A Remedy For Gray Hair?
June 23rd, 2011 by kpriss
Kristen McMenamy is one of the most fashionable and stylish people out there, undoubtedly. And not so much because of her clothes but also because she refused to be part of a dissimulating era by wearing her hair gray as it naturally is. And boy, do I love her for doing that! (below is a perfect example, with Kristen McMenamy starring in the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign)
But did you know that scientists around the world were working at a gray hair cure? And that their experiments, so far, have been a success? Long story short: gray hair is a direct result of a protein depigmentation in hair follicles. Researchers from the New York University, in their recently published study, say that they were able to isolate and reverse the protein centered process responsible for the appearance of gray hair. Do you think that’s possible? Would you support such a scientific study? Do you think it’s possible that they come up with a gray hair cure despite of the ever blooming hair dye industry? World’s Most Fashionable Is…
June 23rd, 2011 by kpriss
If you were to describe / pick the most fashionable person in the world, who would it be? Because I must tell you what one of the grand designers had to say about the matter:
“Fashion today is in the hands of the banks and of the stock market and not of their owners”. Giorgio Armani is not only one of the most successful fashion people out there but also one of the bravest, as he sold out the fashion secrets without even blinking!
I agree with mr Armani on this one: World’s Most Fashionable title goes to world’s banks! For they rule the Fashion World (and any other world for that matter). How about you, do you agree with Giorgio Armani? (via)
