Versace H & M

Reading the news, watching at the video (which you can watch right after the jump), watching it again and again and I still can’t believe my eyes! Versace for H & M? This is major fashion news! At least for the average fashpeople.

Donatella Versace was so impressed with the way the collection turned out that she actually chose a gold studded leather dress for her bow at the end of the Versace Men’s Collection which was just presented in Milan. I know this will make the rounds of the interwebs for days and days, so mark your calendars, fashionable ladies and gents, November 19th 2011 is the day the new Versace H & M collection will hit H & M stores around the world!

And that’s not all: Donatella can’t get enough of H & M as she designed pieces for the Swedish fastfashion giant retailer’s pre spring collection. Those will only be available in countries where H & M’s online retail option is available, starting January 19 2012. What will the collection look like? It’s a “best of Versace” kind of thing. Will it sell? Like hot French baguettes! Ahem.. Italian bruschetta! (wink) Will you buy something from the collection?(via)

Video is private? Also on YouTube. Why?

I don’t care much about this collection. It is the name but still H&M. Plus I can imagine what kind of females are going to run to H&M and going to wear this. I rather dress in a good but unknown brand with good quality.

I just might!

ajginger – sorry about that! I replaced it with one that was working? I just hope it won’t get deleted also!

It’s impressive, though, to be able to get Versace designed clothes for a mere fraction of the price? I completely understand your quality worries and I totally support that! I’d rather buy my clothes once every few years rather than change my wardrobe every season. I’m more the classic fashion type rather than the frugal one. I went to the Gap the other day to replace my 6yo faithful jeans and couldn’t find a decent pair to match the old one, although it was designed by the same label. I felt so sad! I can’t help but think I should buy a second pair of a clothing item I really like and really fits me? Did any of you ever had to do that?

Kpriss I do! I wish I had bought back then 4 pairs (and still so affordable at the time) of the Levi’s Cut for Girls jeans. Remember those? But they were high waisted and I have never embraced the low rise. and never found a better fit than these good old Levi’s for my figure. I need desperately new jeans but I hate, hate, hate the hunt for those and especially these shops with loud music and nonsense talking sales people…ugh….

Yesterday I tried to find white wedge espadrilles as my old ones are to worse for wear. And the “new look” does not appeal to me so I said sombre: “I want the real ones”. And the girl in the shop said: “But this is the new look and the new trend and I “Oh really? You must be kidding me? Why?” Girl started to explain it all while I don’t look exactly outdated….I started to grin and apologised….back home I declared my love to my old worn out espadrilles and decided not to wore espadriles this summer. It’s not that I have a lack of footwear really…

Kpriss, the video works. Thank you. I admire Donatella eventhough the H&M range is not my thing. I see how many ladies are overjoyed. That’s nice.
Donatella did a great job, despite everything going on in her family and her own struggles, how she kept the Versace name alive and desirable. I bow for her. And if I was really, really rich? An Atelier Versace piece would be in my wardrobe!!
