Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012 Collection

Amid overflowing, overwhelming speculations that this was Marc Jacobs’ last Louis Vuitton collection, I don’t think people feel ready to let him go to Dior. Just yet.

Although equally iconic, Dior would be the grown up stage of Marc Jacobs’ design. Unlike Louis Vuitton which is more like his playground. How else would he be able to transition for last year’s fetish injected collection to this year’s ethereal catwalk? Without being even the least offensive or cutting too many edges, Marc Jacobs’ Spring Summer 2012 collection for Louis Vuitton was poetical, flowery, really feminine and truly young.

It was so perfect that even Kate Moss wanted to be in it: she was the flowery bride (no, no smoking involved this time!), the last look on the catwalk. And she was perfect too. I loved the collection and I’m certain that those flowery skirts will be next summer’s fashion must. Aren’t you? (click through to see my selection and a video of the fashion show)

Ryan Reynolds’ New Girlfriend? Blake Lively!

I only stopped to read this because of the side messy fishtail braid. Really. Whaaaat? Tssss… yeah, so whatever, the latest rumors place Blake Lively in Ryan Reynolds loving arms.

You may experience a déjà –vu feeling but that’s mainly because they used to be an item in Green Latern? After that, reports started circulating that Blake is dating Leonardo diCaprio. Pictures were taken. Now there’s no picture. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Only rumors saying that Blake and Ryan couldn’t take their hands off each other in a Boston train station. True or not, only time will tell. Now can we please focus on Blake’s hairdo?

Easy How To Hairstyles

Remember we talked about this hairstyle situation a while back? I was concerned about personal style issues and, as always, I had a (hidden) conflict with my hair. I can’t seem to find “my style” or maybe I’m just going through a period of hairstyle issues.

Either way, I started digging deeper for styling routines that could help me out by showing me simple steps in dealing with unruly hair and taming the styling situation. Aaaand, because I found something I really liked, I ran back, excited, wanting to share the happiness! After having experienced with the styles myself and concluding that they work even for someone who has two left hands when it comes to doing my hair, ta daaaaam: my daaaahlings, here’s how you could style your own hair, easy steps with amazing results!

Take, for starters, the side pony tail! A messy, side pony tail!

Rihanna’s Backseat Underwear For Armani Ad Campaign Video

I’m typing this as I’m watching the video for the first time. Because I wanted to give you my very first impressions, without waiting another second and / or read another set of reviews about it.

Rihanna’s Emporio Armani / Armani ad campaign was created in collaboration with Steven Klein so the imagery is impeccable and truly beautiful. The story? Meh. Not so much. I may be trying too hard, as always, to understand the meaning hidden in fashion ad campaigns – they always try to infuse clothing items with so much meaning and hidden spirituality that in the end, I always feel confused and puzzled. So maybe I should simply stop trying to see more than just clothes and underwear? (on a side note – I loved Rihanna‘s look in the video? So fresh, so feminine, so playful!)

Toy Story’s You’ve Got A Friend In Me By Randy Newman

And so it all started. The computer animations were practically invented by Pixar. Who led Pixar into the worldwide success they’re enjoying right now? Steve Jobs, yes, you guessed it right!

I don’t know how familiar you are with the story of Pixar, so for the moment I won’t bug you with it; I’ll just wish you a wonderful weekend with a little help from Toy Story’s musical theme “You have a friend in me” composed and performed by Randy Newman. For the first Toy Story. Aaaaand, after the jump, a cover by the Gipsy Kings, as featured in Toy Story 3 and masterfully danced by Jessie and Buzz! Have a sweet, happy weekend my lovelies. Stay true to your beliefs, always fashionable in your heart!

Joan Smalls The Last Magazine Fall Winter 2011 2012

And this, my daaahlings, is why I love Joan Smalls! The age of the Supermodel may have well ended, but there will always be models and .. supermodels! And Joan Smalls is of the latter.

She has that beauty and inner spark I used to see in the likes of Christy Turlington and Liya Kebede. Here she is for The Last Magazine Fall Winter 2011 2012 as photographed by Karim Sadli. The black and white pictures are wonderful and make Joan’s natural beauty even more striking. Anyone knows why this girl seems to be forgotten? Yes, I’ve seen her catwalking so many shows this season, I lost count. However, I think fashion magazines should highlight her more than they do now. Which is close to nothing (sad face). And it just doesn’t make sense: look at her, isn’t she perfect?

Girly Party Dress Blue Ruffled Dress

Did I forget to tell you I love ruffled dresses? You could’ve suspected something years ago when I started the strapless D & G madness (sigh, I still think something was lost in the discontinuation of the D & G label. The magic. The dress magic. Bam! It’s all gone! Sad, sad face). Anyhow, I discovered that, if I really want to feel good in a dress whenever I pull my crazy dancing moves, it has to be a ruffled dress.

Something about the movement of those ruffles, something about the way it dresses my willowy frame, something about the ultra feminine ruffles enchants me more than I can put in words. So here’s another one of those daily outfits. A blue ruffled dress from Va et Vien (an Urban Outfitters division) exclusively available at Anthropologie’s BHLDN (oh, how I love that shop!)

Rose Cordero’s Baby Bump

Life. Death. I was so upside down because of Steve Jobs’ death that I just couldn’t pull myself together to write about something. Anything. Especially fashion – wise. Today, the entire world mourns the loss of Steve Jobs (you can write something, if you wish, here. Just follow the on screen instructions).

Getting back – what made my fingers touch the computer again (for something else other than crying while watching yet another Steve Jobs video – my last one it’s the now – viral Stanford speech from 2005 – check it out after the jump) was talking about a baby bump. A new beginning. A new life. Rose Cordero is one of the few black models who have made it on a Vogue cover. And now, the lovely Rose Cordero is pregnant. (she’s 19, if anyone asks) Congrats to the expectant mother (and father?), may she have an easy pregnancy and a healthy baby! And if she so desires, we can’t wait to see her back on the catwalk with her fellow model and also young mom, Jourdan Dunn!
