Sasha Pivovarova Is Pregnant. Illustrating Books For Prada And Lagerfeld!

One of my favorite models, Sasha Pivovarova just announced a couple of days ago, that she was expecting! Congrats to the happy mum-to-be! She’s like three months along with her and her husband’s first child.

You may remember them from a Vogue photo shoot (June 2009, to be more exact) where they recreated their wedding. Sasha is married with long time friend, photographer Igor Vishnyakov. However, the young mother to be is a busy bee having a book in the works with Miuccia Prada (with Sasha’s artwork) and with Karl Lagerfeld (Sasha illustrating for Der Kaiser scenes from Russian fairytales). Can’t wait for the baby bump pics!

Thoughts About Olivia Wilde’s Thick Black Eyeliner For Iron Lady Premiere?

So Meryl Streep is stepping out to promote the Iron Lady. Her movie’s premieres will grace our days for the following weeks as we all treasure Meryl and seeing her glowing persona adds something special to our daily news routine. At least that’s what happens with my everyday news reading.

However, as amazing as I think Meryl is, I only had eyes for Olivia Wilde this time around! Take a look for yourself and tell me what you think of Olivia’s makeup. That thick black eyeliner on the upper lid – should we follow? It’s a interesting beauty approach, especially for Olivia’s features and her all black look for this Red Carpet event (minus the leopard print shoes – a great way to add something interesting to an relatively uninteresting outfit).

Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012 Sweet Ad Campaign

How (literally) sweet that is! Louis Vuitton’s Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign offers an overload of sweetness with an ice cream parlor thematic.

All is pink, all is candy. Kati Nesher and Daria Strokous photographed by Steven Meisel will make their debut in print in February 2012 magazines, in this “very soft and very sweet, yet at the same time very bold and very graphic” (the very words of Marc Jacobs). It’s light and really girly, although not entirely on my alley. Is this a good marketing approach for the luxury giant that is LV? (is that lightness intentional to relief the overexpensive weight of the price tags?)

Gisele Bundchen’s Cosmo Australia January 2012 Cover Is Vogue’s April 2010 Cover

I have to end this Cosmo story once and for all! You know we talked about Carey Mulligan’s photos being on multiple magazines covers? Same goes for Gisele Bundchen’s Cosmopolitan Australia, the January 2012 issue.

Aren’t you having a big case of déjà vu? It’s because it’s the same picture as the one published on the cover of Vogue, the famous April 2010 issue, Gisele’s first cover after giving birth, in the mirror. Minus the background. And no, Cosmopolitan is not Conde Nast. It’s Hearst. And yes, editors do lack imagination. And funds. Will Cosmo’s regular buyers notice the picture? I doubt it. Gisele’s selling power is more important than who was first to publish this picture! And… it’s Cosmopolitan after all, people are used to seeing poor covers.

The Perfect Black Evening Dress Of The Holidays Season! Of Any Season!

For me. At least. I was just looking around for something to write on my Christmas wish list and there I am. Completely struck by lightning! I can’t take my eyes off of this gorgeous dress! It just has me written all over it!

It’s a shirt dress from Zara, the Evening collection, just in case you fell in love with it (oh, and the fluffy thing is a clutch, I think)! (sigh) please excuse me while I stare some more! (care to join me for a collective sigh of adoration? Wink)

Scarlett Johansson’s Cosmopolitan Cover Is So Wrong!

I usually complain about the obvious lack of imagination manifested by various fashion magazines editors while posing this and that celebrity a la Marilyn Monroe. And Scarlett Johansson is one of those who’s impersonating the world’s most famous blond actress.

Cosmopolitan’s January 2012 issue prides itself by not repeating the Marilyn pose with Scarlett. Their cover isn’t all that beautiful, but at least it’s Scarlett and not one of Marilyn’s clones. They still got it all wrong, however, by putting something like “I knew he was the wrong guy on our wedding day.” on a cover with recent – divorcee Scarlett. How. Lame. Is. That? Nobody double checks these Cosmo covers anymore? (remember I was unclear about another Cosmo cover title just days ago?)

L.I.L.Y. Perfume By Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney’s latest perfume for women is called L.I.L.Y. and is actually an ode to her late mother, Linda McCartney. It’s an interesting moment to launch this perfume given that her father, Sir Paul McCartney just got married again (barely two months ago). Oh, well – sigh – the troubled lives of the famous ones!

So L.I.L.Y. is supposed to be a very pure and uncomplicated fragrance with, of course, Lily of the Valley aromas, oak moss and, unusually, truffles. The name of the perfume itself comes from a nickname Sir Paul gave his late wife, Linda: “Linda, I Love You”.

This is the second women perfume from Stella and it’s expected to land in specialty boutiques starting January 2012, alongside a body lotion and a shower gel. All the prices range from $25 to $100. I don’t know about you, but they had me at “pure and uncomplicated”! (the ad campaign is fronted by the beautiful Malgosia Bela)

What Makes Love True. Tiffany Asks The Kids

I know it’s an odd question to ask when you’re one of the world’s most renowned jewelry labels and your entire marketing campaign is based on love clichés and true love sparkly tokens. However, this short video below is sweet and light to watch around the Christmas time.

Just kids being asked what true love is by Tiffany. Cute kids. Cute answers. Clever initiative. As always. (at least this time we don’t have to ask what dress the model is wearing and how to get it – it’s way easier).
