Model Photoshop Malfunction? Slimming Black Dress?

We’re so close to the Fashion Week craze that it will be practically impossible to ignore the weight talk, anorexia warning signs and… well, generally what surrounds the good model crowd when it comes down to the catwalk.

As my eyes are barely adjusting to better digest the runway sizes, I came across this picture of a model trying to sell us a certain black dress. Now, before we get all excited and start pointing the finger at whoever may be to blame in the industry, in the world, let’s all take a deep breath and try to figure out what’s really going on here:

These are heavily contributing factors to the visual slimming of the model (which may or may not have been photoshop – enhanced). Which is, rather dramatic, wouldn’t you say? Karlie Kloss is definitely having a moment this year. Hopefully, it will be one of the many years to follow as she’s a very interesting model with character and personality which go beyond her pretty features and perfect – for – modeling body. Covering Vogue Australia’s March 2012 issue only reminded me what a wonderful vision is Franca Sozzani’s! controversy makes the (fashion) world go round, doesn’t it?

Have you seen Tilda Swinton’s 2012 ad campaign for Pomellato? To be honest, I’m surprised Tilda is doing any kind of advertising, being the rebel that she is. That must be because you know, everyone is against the system, but not against the money…

Anyway, Tilda Swinton continues to represent for the Italian Jeweler Pomellato (after the jump, there’s Tilda’s 2011 campaign for Pomellato’s Nude – pretty. And I mean it! And that’s not an easy attribute to label Tilda with!). She even hosted a boutique opening for Pomellato’s Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills on Monday, January 30th. Pomellato’s new ad campaign is lovely, all kinds of artsy while the Nudo Rings are pure delight. Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, the said jewelry pieces are really versatile, all in being simple and eye catching enough to be statement accessories.

Now: there’s a fine line between hip and flop. Pale-ish, white-ish is the new color for evening wear, hence Tilda, who is a celebrated fashionista, was sporting the must wear color. All I want to know is didn’t anyone tell her she forgot to take her pajama off? It was an official event, after all!

Remember I was head over heels with Charlize Theron’s Red Carpet appearance at the 2012 edition of the Golden Globes? Now my head is actually spinning from that very look after doing the math of it! The Dior dress and the Dior bag were about $50,000 (loan from Dior) and the Cartier jewelry loaned for the occasion totaled a crazy amount: $8,026,525! I’m speechless!

Yet another proof that not anyone can pull a certain outfit and that not anyone can wear a dress instead of being worn by the dress in question. I’m overwhelmed!
