Daphne Groeneveld’s Self Service Spring Covers
February 22nd, 2012 by kpriss
At first, when I saw these two covers, side by side, I was convinced it was some kind of experiment. Some fashion magazine editor decided to try a little photo – adventure on Daphne Groeneveld and land her a kind of before / after pictorial.
But no. These were reported as actual fashion magazine covers for Self Service Spring 2012. And Daphne is as eyebrowless and as quirky beautiful for both of them. I do prefer her in black and white, though, that red lipstick doesn’t help her much, as trendy and as must – wear may red lips be right now! How about you, what’s your favorite cover?

Fashionista’s Favorite Jeans Brand: Levi’s!
February 22nd, 2012 by kpriss
It actually came as a surprise to me and it may be just the same for you, to hear who came first in fashion loving people’s denim preferences: Levi’s. In spite of every marketing effort, every celebrity advocating for any other jeans brand out there, Levi’s still has it all for itself. Fashionistas prefer the classics. Second, in the most-popular brands top five came Michael Kors, then Ralph Lauren on third, Tommy Hilfiger came forth followed by Carolina Herrera.
All the above happens in the U.S. while Europe’s fashionistas prefer Louis Vuitton (in Paris, biensur), Gucci in Italy and, surprisingly, Mulberry in the U.K.. The study was conducted on one of the most known online street style community, Chicismo. Thoughts?
Wearable Legends Of The Fall 2012: McQ Collection
February 21st, 2012 by kpriss
Reinterpreting Alexander McQueen. No. Reinventing Alexander McQueen for the masses. Sarah Burton’s McQ Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection was admirable. And not just because it looked like McQueen but also because Sarah Burton has the McQueen essence flowing through her creative veins! Minus the high drama. And that we love. She’s like a lady McQueen (wink). (the entire collection here)
Urban Fashion: Burberry Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection Fashion Show
February 21st, 2012 by kpriss
Bows, owls, pretty pleats, shiny noble velour. Burberry Fall Winter 2012 2013 was a fashion regal. As usual. Christopher Bailey is the British Fashion Genius who drives Burberry to unimagined peaks of style and wearability.
He’s Burberry’s Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton of young hip Brits (and not just Brits). Whatever he creates, it’s a complete success, an instant sellout. It’s an aesthetic I can’t resist, fashionable details I not just want, but also need in my wardrobe. Effortless, wearable, beautiful fashion was raining down on London Fashion Week’s Burberry catwalk! Check out the video after the jump! (photos of the entire collection here)
The Wilds Things Are With Mulberry Fall Winter 2012

So if you were to watch the news today and find out that the Zoos of the world reported heavily furred animals disappearing in mass, you won’t have to look no further than London Fashion Week’s Mulberry Fall Winter 2012 2013! The collection included some very furry creations as well as black leather looks and eye – hurting oranges. Which were, as reported, inspired by Lana del Rey. Truly a connection born to die!
Plaid Glamour: Ralph Lauren Fall Winter 2012 2013
February 20th, 2012 by kpriss
I was ready to move on and talk about London Fashion Week only and then bam! I remembered there was more than Marc by Marc Jacobs: I hadn’t said a word about Ralph Lauren’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection! And I really wanted to! Because although it was just one collection, it actually looked like two different collections on that runway! One collection that was very Downtown Abbey, as reported by style dot com: plaids, sweaters, high knee socks and cute little hats and one other collection that was very glam and Red Carpet inclined.
As I’m sure Ralph Lauren tried to give his best interpretation of the season’s trends, but he ended up torn between glamour and English suit charm. And although the collection in its entirety was pretty, charming and really wearable, I felt it lacked cohesion and coherence. But that’s ok by fashion standards, it’s called diversity. Inspiration. Vision. Isn’t it?
Check Out Tokidoki’s Noir Jewelry
February 20th, 2012 by kpriss
I told you I was not very good at wearing jewelry but looking at all kinds of rings, earrings etcetera, I’m always in the mood for that! And today I found these really cute pieces from nOir Jewelry‘s special collaboration with Tokidoki and Barbie!
Check them out! It’s like they were made for girls! Tiny planes, wee dolls charms! I read somewhere that dressing up starts when you’re about five and it never really ends. Not even when you’re a full grown up. Consequently, I wouldn’t mind at all owning and playing with these sparkling beauties! Especially the airplane ring which really actually spins! Ha!
