Sofia Vergara Is InStyle April 2012
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
Have I told you before how much I love Sofia Vergara? Or how much I love Modern Family? It’s my favorite series right now, we watch it and laugh till our tummy aches! Everybody is so spot on in that series! Especially Gloria. ahem Sofia Vergara!
And there she goes, taking the cover of InStyle’s April 2012 in all her smiling beauty. Wearing Narciso Rodriguez (and perfectly white Tom Ford dress inside) with jewelry by Martin Katz, Sofia was photographed by Dusan Reljn for this InStyle issue. All smiles, all perfectly normal, doesn’t she look great?
It’s all in the attitude, girls, I know we can’t all have Sofia’s amazing body (can you honestly believe she has a 20yo son?), but we can try to look at the bright side of life, keep it fun and smart! (and we know Sofia is fun! If you need more evidence of that witty spirit of hers, you can read some fragments from her InStyle interview here; more images right after the jump, check out the gallery here, oh, and please write that name down: Modern Family – you have to watch it!)
Top Style Advices From Kate Moss
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
Kate Moss is globally recognized as a style icon, maybe one of the most significant of our generation. Her status has been officially signaled through several awards (even from the Council of Fashion Designers of America) making her a certified golden reference in fashion and style.
As such, Kate Moss offering advices about personal style is something to consider whenever you’re putting together an outfit or defining a fashion personality for yourself. So there it goes: Kate Moss’s top style advices (with a little help from 1, 2, 3, 4)
3. Find a vintage icon and emulate her style!
“It’s important to have some inspiration or a reference point when you’re dressing.” – consider asking yourself, if you fancy that particular era – “Would Audrey Hepburn wear this?”
2. Don’t overdo it on the accessories!
“Wearing too many accessories at once can look very bad. […] say not to wear a hat with glasses because I look as if I’m trying to wear a disguise.” The only exception to that rule is overstacking on jewelry – Kate thinks you can’t ever have too much of those!
1. When in doubt, wear black!
“I just throw on whatever I feel like wearing at the time, which tends to come from the palette of black, grey or red. If I’m having an off day, I’ll wear full black.” (I’m convinced that’s Angelina Jolie’s capital style rule too!)
Michel Hazanavicius Styles Jean Reno, Georgia May Jagger For Harper’s Bazaar
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
If you loved The Artist, you’ll love this pictorial! I honestly had great reserves about watching The Artist. It is, after all, a silent movie, you know? In the middle of the 3D, IMAX hi – tech cinema era, a silent movie? Come on? Who’d want to watch it?
We watched it! And we want to watch it again! And again! The music was a charmer, so were the two main actors (plus the wee dog) so if you haven’t had the Artist pleasure yet, do hurry! It’s one precious piece of movie! Now back to Harper’s Bazaar: in their April 2012 issue, Max Farago photographed the legendary French actor Jean Reno with Georgia May Jagger. (check out the rest of the images after the jump!)
Spring Is Here, Get Your Fashion Salad Ready!
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
While some people like their salads in their plates, others like it in their wardrobe. We talked about this kind of salad dressing before, now I’m at it again since prints are very much in this season and everyone seems such an expert on mixing various prints! Take one of Yvan Hunter’s face hunted below: hellooo spring mix salad!
H & M Magazine Spring 2012: Abbey Lee Kershaw, Josephine Skriver
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
Abbey Lee Kershaw shows her pretty platinum blond locks alongside gorgeous looking Josephine Skriver on the cover of H & M Magazine Spring 2012. White, cobalt blue and color blocks, H & M has it all for you just in time for Spring!
I wouldn’t necessarily wear it all, but some of the pieces are charming and could add just the touch of trendy your wardrobe needs. I’ll have to think twice before pairing pink, orange and python print, but in those pictures it really makes sense! Oh, and if you’re getting a weird vibe from the images, don’t fret – it’s Uncle Terry! (at least we don’t see him, his infamous checked shirts or his specs! Thanks H & M for that!)
Lenny Kravitz For Sushi Shop New York
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
I know some of you (just like me) were wondering what has Lenny Kravitz been up to lately. This is not music – related, not even on the Red Carpet events calendar. Sushi is one of my favorite meals and this is a perfect opportunity to talk about Lenny and sushi in the same news paragraph! (plus the Catwoman – Rick Owens talk earlier which brought one of Lenny’s outfits to mind)
Lenny Kravitz has designed a sushi box to mark the opening of New York’s first Sushi Shop (a French chain sushi bar which opened his first restaurant in NY last month). The NYC Box Sushi Shop hints at New York’s street art with a graffiti – like inscription “Raw like New York”. Now don’t be sad if you can’t have the Lenny sushi box, just have any sushi box instead and enjoy it! I know I will!
What Would Catwoman Wear?
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
Well, Rick Owens, biensur! What a question! Catwoman and Rick Owens could definitely be a match made in couture action heaven!
In the light of recent events, we notice more and more that the line between the genders is going up in smoke (Marc Jacobs wears skirts, Andrej Pejic advertises for bras). And Rick Owens’ collections keep trying to make his and hers closets one. I’m sure Catwoman would approve of that (but if you don’t, and have more ideas, please step forward and share – I’d love to hear your fashion vision about our favorite heroes!)
Lara Stone Krav Maga Demonstration. In Couture And High Heels
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
Watching Krav Maga demonstrations on Discovery was so yesterday! Now, every fashion girl can get her own adapted Krav Maga training from Lara Stone. And it’s not your usual sneakers – tracksuit training either! It’s a couture and high heels Krav Maga session! (and be sure to check out the video after the jump!)
First of all, Krav Maga is the new kickboxing. It’s a self defense system originated and perfected in Israel (and currently used by the Israeli Defense Forces) which literally means “hand – to – hand combat”. Krav Maga was brought to the US in the early 80s as the FBI expressed high interest in the Israeli self defense technique.
