Natalia Vodianova, Michael Fassbender Do Vogue
April 16th, 2012 by kpriss
Now that’s an interesting pictorial from Vogue US May 2012 – the same issue with a Scarlett Johansson on the cover. This is one of those inside goodies, always welcome surprises offered by Grace Coddington’s stylist eye. Honestly, I feel like a fashion wee one holding the chocolate egg whenever I have a Vogue US in my hands! I’m almost tearing through the wrapping to get to the good stuff!
And, each and every time, the chocolate inside is way better than the pretty wrapping. But that’s a good thing, right? If the big game was the cover, then who’d look inside the magazine? But enough with the talk, here’s what I found inside Vogue this month: Natalia Vodianova and Michael Fassbender in a session with Craig McDean (styled by Grace Coddington, as I already mentioned) with hair by Julien D’Ys and Make up by Stephane Marais. Have You Seen Mischa’s Place?
April 16th, 2012 by kpriss
And, no, I’m not talking about Mischa’s home! I’m talking about Mischa Barton’s e – boutique that goes by the name of “Mischa’s Place”. It looks like etsy with a theater makeover, only the clothes are just as A – grade as you’d expect them to be as designed by Mischa (ha!). Oh, and Mischa also has makeup and beauty products in her place. Now I see why she’s not acting anymore – she has a fashion house to take care of! Duh!
Most Fashionable Furry Boots
April 16th, 2012 by kpriss
Pink makes a lady. Not. I’ve seen so many furry boots last winter season, I honestly thought the pretty ladies wearing them sacrifice the fur of their beloved pet friends in the name of fashion’s latest trends! I can totally understand a little bit of fur here, a strand of fluffy fur there, but walking in those furious clouds of fur was far from fashionable, stylish, trendy, you name it, it was far from it!
The picture below reminded me so much of the frightening walking – in – fur trend I hope I won’t see taking the fashionista’s feet by storm next cold season too. How do you feel about this boot trend? Weigh in in the comments section, after the Streetpeeper’s image below!
Cate Blanchett Without Makeup And Without Photoshop Magazine Cover
April 16th, 2012 by kpriss
You know how high and dearly I think of Cate Blanchett. So while this would be something only brave (famous) people can do, it also gives me the chance to talk about Cate the Great again. And she is great indeed, beaming great even without the all mighty magic of Photoshop. This, my daahlings, is The Economist’s Cate Blanchett cover without photoshop (and with as little makeup as possible – I’m thinking only mascara?). Flawless much?
The Paint Dip Pants – Stylish. Seriously?
April 14th, 2012 by kpriss
I’ve noticed a dip dye style taking the fashion shores by storm in the last couple of years. At first there were the DIY zealots who were willing to ombre dye or dip dye pretty much every – wardrobe – thing. Then there was the ombre do – hair, nails, I even saw an ombre wall somewhere. And it wasn’t all that bad, to be honest!
But these pants? Stylish? Seriously? If so, then I’ll go grab a can of metallic car paint and just pour it on the first pair of white pants I find. And ta-daaaam! Prabal Gurung worthy! No, really! I completely understand, without being judgmental in any way, the need to wear these pants as they come straight out of the catwalk.
Prabal Gurung is one of the most sought – after young designers and fashionistas worldwide threw themselves like packs of hungry fashion wolves on his clothes. But isn’t there any reasoning in all this catwalk – to street walk circuit? Sifting through what could look ridiculous and what is really stylish? Choose your fashion with your heart & brain. Fashion is fun, sure, but be certain that you’re looking good while having all that fun! (below a picture of Elettra Wiedermann in Prabal Gurung pants)
Candice Swanepoel’s Prabal Gurung Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign Video
April 14th, 2012 by kpriss
Talking about Victoria’s Secret models reminded me of one I particularly love: Candice Swanepoel. And her couture – ish ad campaign for Prabal Gurung Spring Summer 2012. Be warned, though: do not watch this video if you’re feeling dizzy or if you have any discomfort at all, it will only make it worse!
If you’re perfectly fine and want to dive into a hypnotic experience, you can go ahead and watch Prabal Gurung’s first ever video ad campaign with a lovely, brunette Candice Swanepoel (isn’t she perfect for modeling?). Oh, and careful – watching it can get addictive!
Barbie’s Presidential Campaign Outfit By Chris Benz
April 14th, 2012 by kpriss
So Barbie is running for president this year (much like she did in 2008)! And, biensur, she has the right outfit for the job: Chris Benz designed a pink suit for the First Barbie Lady “I Can Be… President” matched with pink slingback wedges. I don’t know about you, but Michelle Obama still has my vote for most fashionable First Lady ever! (however, the new $13.99 Barbie hits stores this June)
Angelina Jolie Engaged To Brad Pitt. Huge Engagement Ring On Display
April 14th, 2012 by kpriss
So this is it, huh? The un – weddable couple of the golden Hollywood Hills is finally taking the trip to the altar? Brad Pitt has put a ring on it, reportedly, Angelina Jolie showing a worryingly large engagement ring on her ring finger while visiting an exhibition the other day.
Phones started ringing, emails flew with supersonic speeds and confirmations arrived with even more saucy details about the said engagement ring. Comme d’habitude, Brad Pitt designed the ring for his beloved (he also designed the wedding rings for him and Jennifer Aniston at the time) with the jeweler Robert Procop.
It’s a huge diamond with “distinctive faceting to a shape and size that perfectly suits Angelina’s long, slender fingers” with a galaxy of smaller matching diamonds. Congrats to the happy family! (if it took them a year for the ring, I’m guessing three years for the wedding dress would be just about right. What say you?)
