The 2012 amfAR Gala was the perfect excuse for designers and models alike to show off their best sartorial angle on the Red Carpet. I started with the “bad fashion news” as I thought Kate Upton’s Vuitton dress was too high drama and not enough summer soiree.

But I’m carrying good fashion news: after Kirsten Dunst it’s time to admire Doutzen Kroes who looked stunning at the event! Doutzen worn a Versace white strapless dress with a very interesting back cut – you can take a closer look in the gallery here!

Let’s turn the Louis Vuitton amfAR 2012 Gala page with a smile! So this is Kirsten Dunst in a light blue Louis Vuitton dress. Although I’m convinced that another cut (and, possibly, color) would’ve looked better on Kirsten’s constitution, this light blue Vuitton gown was clearly better than what Kate Upton had on! But really, are these the best dresses Louis Vuitton had to offer?

Cannes, they say, it’s world’s most mediatized film festival in the world. I wonder what makes its real fame – the film festival per se or the surrounding festivities? Take for instance the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala: its glamorous Red Carpet brings even more fashattention to the French Riviera.

Kate Upton showed up at the 2012 amfAR Gala wearing a Louis Vuitton dress (which seemed torn from the Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection). Too busy for a summer soiree, too much for Kate’s already too feminine silhouette, in other words – in my perspective, this is the perfect illustration of bad frocks happening to good people! I have this thing for platforms. I’m actually pretty certain the world would be a better place if all women would wear platforms (instead of stilettos)! I know my wardrobe would be a better place if these wooden platforms would be in my closet! Loving the white crochet! Did you go through organizing a wedding? Your wedding? Someone else’s? It doesn’t really matter, you’ll get nervous just the same! I’ll tell you a little story, though – I was one of those perfectly immaculate brides. White wedding dress, long train, white veil, white bouquet. It was all white!

I even worked on a nice tan before the wedding day, so my white wedding dress would look even whiter (can you tell from the picture?)! But man, was I nervous! As the day approached, no longer had I butterflies in my stomach. Oh – no! as the day approached, my soft fluttering butterflies transformed into bees! Remember when more and more models stepped forward to discuss their awkward photo sessions with Uncle Terry? At the time, there was one particular model’s declaration which left me puzzled and in doubt: Anja Rubik. One of the best looking models right now, very in demand, Anja worked with Terry. However, questioned about her modeling experience with him, she said she had nothing strange to report and didn’t understand all that buzz surrounding him harassing models.

Now I understand why: Anja is (re) launching 25 Magazine in Cannes. What’s that got to do with the above mentioned uncle Terry? Well, you see, 25 Magazine isn’t your ordinary fashion magazine! It’s a 300 – pages collection of visual goodies with explicit content.
