Fashion Has The Gold Fever: Miu Miu’s Olympics Shoes And Bags
July 26th, 2012 by kpriss
Yesterday it was Karl Lagerfeld who tried to convince us that the Olympic spirit is hidden in a pair of paint splattered skinny jeans or in a sequined collar. Sure. I can see why. With difficulty. But that’s why I’m not Lagerfeld. Duh!
Now Prada’s Miu Miu has released their version of the Olympic gold fever: sandals, bags and iPad / iPhone accessories in gold, bronze and silver! Fairly less ridiculous than der Kaiser’s fash doing, the limited edition of bags & more has the potential of a bestseller. I just hope that the price tag on the new Miu Miu collection is not just for the Olympians…
I Am Not A Virgin Jeans Should Change Their Name
July 26th, 2012 by kpriss
The world is still concentrated on the latest Robsten news (Kristen, Robert vs the Snow White affair), I’m going around it by reading all kinds of crazy tibids on the internet: “I Am Not A Virgin” Jeans for instance. Using eco – friendly, recycled denim material, the new label is the target of Richard Branson’s (Virgin) lawyers. They fear associating Virgin with denim is misleading and diluting. Next Scientology against “True Religion” jeans?{FashionTelegraph}
Karl Lagerfeld About Duchess Catherine
July 26th, 2012 by kpriss
Launching his Olympics Special Collection in London, Karl Lagerfeld had to answer all kinds of question. About fashion and more. The British reporters, for instance, wanted to know what the highly esteemed designer thinks about Kate Middleton, now Duchess Catherine. So here’s what Der Kaiser had to say:
“She knows pretty well what to wear and what to do. She has a divine silhouette so she can wear anything. She has a sense of what’s right for the moment because you can not dress like a mad woman in those situations.”
Once in London (and you want your Olympic merch to sell), even the great Lagerfeld bows down to the queen and her people!
Heidi Klum’s Daughters Wear The Same Lipstick As Their Mother
July 25th, 2012 by kpriss
Today, besides talking about Twihard matters (yes, that means Kristen Stewart’s photo – proof of cheating on Robert Pattinson), we can also talk about another controversial topic: lipstick for kids. Heidi Klum was seen out and about (don’t you just love this expression? Representative for the shallow interest we show for everything and anything) with her two daughters. Cool with that. Only her daughters were wearing the same lipstick as Heidi. Next: Suri and Katie? {theGloss}
Karlie Kloss, The New Barbie (Elie Saab Fall 2012 Ad Campaign)
July 25th, 2012 by kpriss
I think I got it (finally – I may be the last to do that, given my laid back attitude towards fashion). Karlie Kloss, everybody’s favorite model, is the new Barbie (at least as far as the catwalk / official fashion scene goes).
However, this ultimate modeling epiphany hit me when I saw Elie Saab’s fall 2012 ad campaign with the above mentioned Karlie Kloss. Elie Saab is one of the favorite designers for the Red Carpet Events. The tough standards for our highly esteemed celebs involve, as I was reading just minutes ago, drastic diets to fit into a character’s skin / costume (I’m talking about the overhyped Catwoman diet adopted by Anne Hathaway). Much like fitting into Barbie’s skin. (the story continues right after the jump!)
Fashionista’s Favorite Breakfast!
July 25th, 2012 by kpriss
Everything is better on a pancake or a waffle! Even a mighty fashion logo such as Louis Vuitton’s LV! This, my dahlings, is the ultimate fashion breakfast! (for those who eat, fashion people are notorious for their non – eating disorders) {Andrew Lewicki’s Louis Vuitton Waffle Maker is an art installation, currently not for mass distribution. A copyright lawsuit is expected to drop on the artist’s head any time now! ; booooooom}
Daria Werbowy Goes Camouflage For Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012 Campaign
July 25th, 2012 by kpriss
Remember Daria Werbowy’s new odd haircut? Something must have bitten old sweet Daria and turned her into some trying – too – hard – hipster. I didn’t want to believe it at first, but there she is, fronting yet another campaign for the fall 2012 season.
Which would be good, usually, if this were also the usual Daria. But no. Roberto Cavalli Fall Winter 2012 2013 ad campaign seems to be a game of mirrored camouflage. I’m sorry, but Mulberry got that better (Where the Wild Things Are thematic – see it for yourself after the jump). Also – clearly better than the first styling of Daria’s new haircut, I still think her face needs more hair, more volume than this.
Saint Laurent Paris. New Logo, Old Helvetica Font
July 25th, 2012 by kpriss
When the house of Yves Saint Laurent let go of Stefano Pilati this year (and took Hedi Slimane back), they may or may not have known they’ll be also letting go to “Yves” too. Hedi rebranded YSL Paris into Saint Laurent Paris. Sanctifying fashion, eh, Hedi? (also, Helvetica just became the most fashionable of all fonts. Ever.)
UPDATE: One year later, Slimane is still at the creative helm of the maison founded by Yves Saint Laurent and the fashion world came to terms with the changes he operated. The new direction he’s imprinting on the house’s fashion repertoire is a bizarrely all-too wearable wardrobe at haute prices.
