Massive Attack Paradise Circus

My dahlings! How is your weekend shaping up already? All I can tell you is that for us, it’s all under a big ‘rest’ sign! We just wrapped up an important part of the fall anniversaries (our three boys’ birthdays). Today and tomorrow is pretty much all about sleep and lazy – ing around.

Hoping your weekend sounds at least as comforting and enjoyable as ours, hereby a slow – ish tune to set the mood! Our dear friend, Ellington, reminded me of this goodie the other day and I think it’s perfect for more than one reasons: (1) ‘Paradise Circus’ is a good description of what goes on in the Frizz – household for about a month or so, with the boys birthdays one after the other and so much more. (2) I have a continuous appreciation for all things Massive Attack for many, many years! (3) Luther.

(there’s no official video of this tune. Yet. Which is maybe better because all you need to do is just lay back, relax and go with the music flow. Massive is good for that.)

Mannequins And Pecans!

The Dallas Contemporary gallery offers an original experience… ahem art view these days. Artist Jennifer Rubell put together the Nutcrackers interactive installation: 18 life – size mannequins around a huge one – ton container of Texas pecans. All good till now! But while viewing this piece of nut – art, you may get hungry, so pick a pecan and just crack it around any mannequin’s inner thighs. You know, the ol’ nutcrackin’ way! {images Andrew Ryan Shepherd; via}

Congrats To Jessica Biel And Justin Timberlake For Their Italian Wedding!

While everyone was whispering something about a sporty wedding ceremony at some fancy skiing resort somewhere (I was already imagining Jessica Biel & Justin Timberlake exchanging vows while snow surfing – wink), it was a romantic, intimate Italian wedding instead!

Jessica Biel Justin Timberlake got married in Italy People quoted the couple (with exclusive details, that they say will be published in full in their next issue): ‘It’s great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends.’.

Wow! I really like that awkward ‘it’s great to be married’ part! What’s that suppose to mean anyway? We only wanted to hear about the wedding dress!

Gabby Douglas, Sportswoman Of The Year!

Just a short happy note to congratulate Gabby Douglas for her recently appointed title as “Sportswoman of the Year” from the Women’s Sports Foundation! It’s a great honor for her and a wonderful example for young girls around the world: discipline and hard work really pay off! Thank you, Gabby, for all the great moments you gave us and the priceless lessons you taught us! {image Jason Kempin/Getty Images North America; via}

Plastic Surgery: Know Better!

The ultra notorious Heidi Montag (who, excuse my lax memory, but I really can’t recall what exactly are her famous merits for being … famous?) came forward in an interview with Access Hollywood about her multiple surgical ‘enhancements’. In short, she had 10 plastic surgeries in just one day time. She was 24 back then. Now she’s 26 and, if we’re to believe that her regrets are sincere, at 26yo, she’s entering adulthood. Finally.

What Dresses For Events? Red Carpet Trend: See – Through

There’s hardly any Red Carpet trend passing unnoticed on the stores front, so when it comes to official events in Hollywood, it never hurts to pay attention every now and then. We recently talked about the Elle Women in Hollywood 19th celebration Gala, and more specifically about Emma Stone who attended the said Red carpet event all dressed in hot pink with sheer long sleeves.

Focusing on ‘sheer’: one of the main Red Carpet dresses trends is ‘see – through’ dresses. That’s applicable either for the entire dress / outfit, either on separates (skirts, sleeves, blouses, tops). If you take a look below at the selected sheer looks from the said celebration, you too will agree that see – through is the new black! (Uma Thurman and Elle Fanning in Calvin Klein, Nina Dobrev in Vera Wang and Lea Michelle in Zimmermann)

Casual Smart Dressing

Before this, if I was to pick up a ‘casual smart outfit’, it surely didn’t involve a caftan! However, I think you’ll agree with me that the Andrea Crews caftan special edition with UK artist Leslie Kulesh below can easily be categorized as ‘smart dressing’. Because of the smart phones print, duh! (Bazinga! wink) {highsnobette}
