Would You: Shoes Over Bills?

How amazing is this new zine ‘Shoes Over Bills’ by Hannah K. Lee? Since I was talking about boots and obsessing over a certain pair of Fryers, here’s someone else who balances shoes and their equivalent in real life bills (utilities, sandwiches and so many others!). Loving this find! Definitely considering for my future boots – obsessions! {the zine can be bought here; papermag}

Halle Berry’s Cloud Atlas Interview Germany November 2012 Cover

I saw this cover hours ago and it’s still with me. In my mind. Halle Berry’s Interview Germany November 2012 cover is beyond charming. It’s downright amazing!

I’m having troubles saying what exactly seduced me: the natural hair? The very feminine but still reserved pose, the contrast of the jewelry against her skin? The Tom Ford – ish red nails… All that and a retro charm make me love Halle’s Interview and wish for the best inside pictorial as well! Just to set things straight – Halle is starring in a new movie scheduled for release in just a couple of days (Cloud Atlas) so I’m naturally inclined to believe that this cover, although dreamy, it’s pure marketing. {photography Sean and Seng; via}

The Fall Boots You Need: Frye Donna Chelsea Booties

You know, booties talk just gets to me every year. Just like I like talking sandals and summer dresses, when fall is in the air, I just can’t help myself: I fall for boots. And booties. Today it’s the Frye edition. I’ve been obsessing over these Donna Chelsea Frye boots in Dark Brown for so many days now, they haunt me in my sleep! Too much? Probably. But boy, are they worth it! {images from the Frye company}

Selfridges Wishes You A Count Basie Christmas! Already

Can you believe I started Christmas talking already? Truth being told, it’s never too early to talk Christmas. Is it? Our dear friend, Ellington, sent me this lovely video I wanted to share with you. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been made available for embedding (yet), so I guess we’ll just have to settle with a picture of a dreamy pair of miniature horses and directions pointing towards the funny Christmas party – like advertising from Selfridges.

With Bruce Weber behind the camera and a title like “Have A Count Besie Christmas!” you’re definitely not in for your average Holidays advertising campaign. And, let me tell you, it’s really uplifting, joyful and inviting. So if you hear anyone that’s throwing a Count Besie party these days, don’t think twice about attending it! (oh, and the video is here – wink)

Thoughts: Anna De Rijk’s Vogue Netherlands November 2012 Cover

As our dear friend, Riana, advised us to keep an eye out for Dutch magazines, I saw this new Vogue Nederland November 2012 cover and it felt strange. I decided to ask you as well. Maybe Anna de Rijk’s neo – Victorian styling and green styling of the cover would look more appealing to you. So please, let’s discuss: what’s this lacey number doing for a 2012 leathery fall? {vogueNLfb}

What To Wear To A Late Weeknight Movie?

As I told you before, we wrapped up the fall birthdays a couple of days ago and just before that, our Frizz mansion was pretty much an open space for family and friends who came celebrate with us. In between party drops, we caught a late night movie with my sister – in – law and her Husband.

And I was in a dressy mood for the occasion. Only it was a weeknight, pretty late, actually, and despite my dressy mood, I wasn’t up for a glam getup. So, below’s pretty much what I wore: only imagine that instead of this horizontal striped silk blouse, I was wearing one of my Adored Husband’s shirts, vertical stripes and rolled up sleeves. How do you like my casual late night movie date look? (as previously, you can check out more details on StyleFrizz Polyvore’s sets here)

The Mentalist’s Perfume: Simon Baker Advertising For Givenchy Fragrance

The Mentalist Simon Baker perfume ad for Givenchy It’s been a while since we last talked about The Mentalist. Simon Baker, my dahlings, hasn’t been lazy at all: he was just appointed as the next ambassador for a new Givenchy perfume to be launched next spring.

Wwd reported that the official reports from the fashion house labeled Simon Baker with ‘aristocratic elegance and charisma’.

Barney’s Slimmed Down Minnie Mouse And Daisy Duck

I was reading this heated protest campaign reclaiming Barney’s Disney characters slim down. And I thought about our kids. Who happen to watch Disney classics and love every second of it! Especially when it’s Mickey Mouse clubhouse time! And you know what? It’s all in our heads!

Controversial Barney s Slimmed down Disney charactersOur kids don’t see those distorted images. We do!

Because we’re already body conscious and culture – aware.

Our kids watch all kids of strange looking cartoons characters without even asking why the head is 10 times bigger than the body or why Mickey Mouse’s ears don’t move when he turns his head around (random examples).

So really, aren’t we making a big deal out of this already?

Sure, they slimmed down Minnie and Daisy, sure they look like shadows of the classic characters we used to see. But let’s not put this on our kids’ shoulders. It’s between us, grownups. So let’s deal with it in a grown up manner: it’s an ad campaign. Mean to draw attention / customers. Let’s just ignore it and it would just be an epic fail.
