Joan Smalls Vogue Turkey December 2012 Vs Vogue Japan January 2013

As happy as I am seeing that Joan Smalls has two Vogue covers available this month, my disappointment is boundless for neither of the two Vogue editions does her justice.

What are we focusing on: Joan Smalls Vogue Turkey December 2012 cover and Joan Smalls’ Vogue Japan January 2013 cover. Clearly a disastrous result, Vogue Japan’s cover photo was masterfully, tastefully executed by the one and only Uncle Terry. No need to further comment on this subject, the disturbingly bad photo – execution speaks for itself.

Vogue Turkey, on the other hand, had so much potential! Joan is smiling joyfully, her body is not posing rigidly. But what have they done to her face? At least the inside content looks promising, judging from the preview posted online by the brave, passionate tFS people (hit the jump to see it). In my perspective, Joan’s Vogue Turkey is superior to the Japan edition. Where do you stand on Joan’s covers matter?

L’Oreal Acquires Urban Decay

This is just one of the many fashion news titles of the day and I could easily move on saying nothing has changed for the fashion big shots even in recession times. But wait! Urban Decay is ‘only’ the largest independently owned color cosmetic company in the US. Not anymore. The French L’Oreal cosmetics giant has everything you need (waving hand like a Jedi)! Don’t worry, it’s just another ‘Fashion Hotshots vs Fashion Fools‘ episode! {wwd}

Here’s Lara Stone’s Baby Bump In Tight Red Dress!

We barely guessed Lara Stone’s Baby Bump under that black dress a while back when her husband, David Walliams twitted the happy news, now it’s time to admire the Dutch beauty’s growing belly in all its glory!

Attending the Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York City the other day, Lara Stone was glowing, happily smiling in a beautiful, tight red dress embracing her mother – to – be curves. I could actually hug her right now. As awkward as it sounds. I like to affectionately refer to it as ‘the baby bump effect‘ (wink). (images PacificCoastNews via)

Men Street Fashion: Lenny Kravitz Giant Scarf Hot Or Not?

I came forward with my weakness for scarves all too many times, but you already know I’m restless and I won’t stop praising the cozy virtues of a big, faithful scarf! But when is a big scarf too big? When it crosses the threshold towards ‘giant scarf’, like Lenny Kravitz’ scarf here, is it fashionable still? Or just Hobbit wardrobe – reminiscent? Blanket and scarf, two in one! {image PacificCoastNews via}

Anna Nicole Smith’s Daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead Models For Guess Kids

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and this is just another way to prove it: Dannielynn Birkhead. Sounds familiar? It’s the 6-year-old daughter of late Anna Nicole Smith. Here goes the pretty model head, stepping into her mother’s footsteps as Guess ambassador in the label’s Spring Summer 2013 Kids ad campaign.

Directed by Paul Marciano himself, the Guess kids new model posed pretty on the Malibu beach for Elliston Lutz two decades after her mother’s Jayne Mansfield – impersonations in the Guess ads. Let’s cross out fingers for the little one to be safe and strong and learn a valuable life lesson from her mother’s mistakes!

Would You Buy Twilight’s Edward And Bella Wedding Dolls?

Twilight Breaking Dawn Part Two topped the box office sales during the Thanksgiving weekend, making it one of the most popular movies of a generation. With that in mind, surely a Twilight gift will find its way under many Christmas trees this year. Bella and Edward dolls as bride and groom would be too creepy, you think? (wait till you hear the price: $389.98 for the forever and ever happy pair!)

Notable Street Fashion Trend: Printed Skirt & Dark Sweater

Since I took the wearable road of fashion (with clothes and shoes you can wear, stand and walk in more than 10 minutes without sounding like a squeaky toy while doing so), let me ask you if you’ve seen the latest trend on the fashion street! Because I just did and I think it’s wonderful!

Who doesn’t have a dark sweater hanging in the back of the wardrobe? Too simple, too basic to work some fashion trick on your daily style routine? Well, now you can take that dark sweater, put it over a summery dress or a white skirt with nice prints on, something that’ll cheer the fashion spirit of the said sweater and you’re perfectly, fashionably good to go! Have you tried it yet? It worked for you? (all images taken by Phil Oh in various cities of the world; via)

Fall Boots You Need: Stuart Weitzman Bootstraps

It’s been a while since we last talked about boots. Let’s make that right! Last I told you I wanted a pair of boots, it was a pair of nicely polished Chelsea boots. This time as well. Only with a nice little enhancement: bootstraps.

Which are the closes I can get to buckles. On Chelsea boots. Naturally, I went for a nice dark chocolate brown, (I rarely fall for black boots – I just think they lack appeal and…well.. life) Stuart Weitzman Bootstraps. Last I heard, they were available online with a $300 price tag (at zappos). Don’t they look nice?
