In many other circumstances, this ‘White Mischief’ pictorial would’ve raised some questions. At least in my head it would’ve. But I could never suspect Vogue Italia of aligning itself to the ‘white catwalk’ trend since Franca Sozzani has proven herself so many times over as a fashion color-revolutionary. I trust her and I trust her vision.
Edie Campbell is a lovely sight on the cover of Vogue Italia’s April 2013 ‘Fearless’ issue. Actually – this is the best sight I’ve seen of Edie since this entire hype aura has been given to her! Steven Meisel worked his charms around her pretty face with a little help from fashion editor Karl Templer.
The sophisticated rebel punk attitude goes well with Edie and that short hair too while the backstage video is more like an artsy side project of the cover and associated pictorial. I remember the same atmosphere and video approach when they did Naomi’s cover a while back.
Edie narrating in the background and telling stories about childhood nightmares – you’d say they really come from her. She’s doing a great job in getting under the punk character’s skin for this issue. But then again, when our culture has blurred the lines between fiction and reality so many times, when reality shows and fictional TV series fight over the top-spots in the audiences’ preferences, there’s no more telling who’s who and where the acting begins and the reality ends.
It’s nice to start a new month with a positive vibe, though. And I’m happy to experiment this positive vibe with the fashion’s new it-girl, Edie Campbell. There must be a reason why she got into the spotlight, right?

Nice cover. I like Edie. She is an interesting model.
Yes I agree Appollonia, Edie is an interesting model and it is great to see a model on the cover of a fashion magazine. : )
Does it remind you of Agyness… a bit? or am I the only one getting an Aggy feeling from this cover?
No, not an Aggy feeling at all…..sorry….?
