Doutzen Kroes’ Strange Smile In Vogue Netherland December 2012

We’ve been warned: Doutzen KroesVogue Nederland December 2012 cover doesn’t look all that pretty. Actually.. it is. Pretty. But in a weird way. I like the natural makeup, I even like the dress. But I think they could’ve done so much better!

I had hopes the inside pictorial would look brighter. More fashionable. But I think Vogue Nederland wanted to play the simplicity card this time. Patrick Demarchelier photographed Doutzen for the cover story pictorial but halfway from the actual snapping of the image to the printing, something happened with Doutzen’s smile! The cover still pulls it alright, but if you click the jump (or see the gallery here), you’ll see there’s definitely something fishy going on!

There’s a fashionless oddity, an Elle – worthy weirdness to the pictures, especially where she smiles. I thought I knew Doutzen, but clearly I didn’t. She looks like a different person and I’m afraid it’s not just Photoshop…

I told ya!!

Doutzen has changed. Of course she has that’s what happen in life. But I don’t like her that much anymore. She morphs into in Denise Richards.

I don’t like this cover. It’s weird. What’s inside is not appealing at all either I’m talking about the articles.

Nonetheless I’m going to spend that €5,95. Only because I like to own Vogue Nederland’s first year. Otherwise I would not purchase this one.

Well at least Dutch Vogue uses models on the cover, which is better than what US Vogue does. :)
Its good that you are supporting your country’s Vogue Appollonia.

I guess it is allright to hate on Doutzen, but I don’t really see what’s weird with the pictures. Since giving birth I think she even looks better than before. I don’t particularly like the way she’s being photographed, but I don’t think you can blame Doutzen for that.

I don’t hate Doutzen. I used to love her more. She is skinnier as all VS Angels are these days. And I have some other reasons I’m not in the mood to talk about and don’t matter really.

You’re right of course it’s not her fault how she’s photographed. This looks a lot like the photography in mediocre web shops catalogues.

I hate her! For having worn those unearthly gorgeous Helmut Lang leather pants I love so much ;) there I go, I came clean about it all, now you know! :*

just kidding: I actually like Doutzen too. I happen to dislike poorly executed jobs. Like this pictorial here… It looks unfinished. I can totally understand its simplicity, as I already said, but it’s hardly Vogue – material…

Correction: the real issue looks much nicer. The colours are better. The blue is deeper blue, VOGUE is in pretty silver and this all makes Doutzen look less weird and so the whole of the cover more desirable :)

Today I got ELLE January 2013 as a present. Simple and pretty. Model Janne (she don’t use a last name) on the cover in a slick purple velvet suit, background light greenish/blue, text in a nice colour pink. Nothing else on the cover than the text:

HALLO 2013 (HELLO 2013)

(Yes, I did some shopping again in my fave shop. I need to support the economy and these lovely ladies. OMG, they’re going to think I am rich…well, I enjoy it while it again. I bought a orange/brown belt, a nice winter jumper and a stripey Summer shirt, first shirt I’m gonna wear when this winter is and the sun is back :) )
