I have just one tagline for Jean Paul Gaultier Fall Winter 2008 2009 Fashion show. And that is – fur. Fur. And then add some more fur.
With an absolute eighties flavor, the shows starts under Thriller chills and goes on the fur road on and on and on. Grey and beige, a bit of color with some strange looking dresses leaving me a strong couch fabric aftertaste, and that pretty wraps up the JPGaultier FW 08-09. What’s your take on the show? Well… I must say that I thought that the musical mix of Thriller, Peter and the Wolf, Tina Turner and animals howling was interesting. :)
I am not a big fur lover my self, and the colour pallet was a tad too brown for me, but I did like the shape and cut of some of his coats.
Come fall/winter PETA is going to be on his collection like white on rice.
Okay so, whoever wrote about Gaultier 2009 winter show really really needs to go get an education in fashion or simply don’t disgrace yourself by writing crap about really incredible designers in the first place. “Left you with a strong couch fabric aftertaste……” WTF?? Please get someone in this position who can actually report fashion please.
Oh, I see, the easiest way to jet off in mysterious glory is to cast a critic stone with no positive add ons and not a single opinion on the actual subject.
Just for the record, the designer hall of fame doesn’t automatically wash the bad fashion out of you…
Fur is gross and unfashionable…There is NO need to wear fur when you can easily purchase a fake (and more ethical) version! It’d probably cost considerably less as well!
MOST imported fur to Northern America is actually DOG and CAT!
Oh get a life people! This is absolutely fabulous! If you have any sense of taste and art which is a part of fashion then you would appreciate the culture the meaning, the expression behind this collection.

If you like something you like it, if you do not, you do not. There is no need or call for deriding someone’s opinion by saying that if they “had any sense of taste and art… you would appreciate the culture the meaning…”
That is simply bad form and quite simply put elitist.
Ummm perhaps you should be referring to the dead little animals getting a life,, not us right? Now, since there is an expendable amount of human waste on this planet, why not see some SKIN coats instead. Now that would be an appreciation of culture, and HUMAN expression, no?
