And so it is… Just like they said it would be… And thus, with the words of Damien Rice (The Blower’s Daughter) begins the acknowledging of a fashmagazine deja-vu. And no, it’s not about Lara Stone‘s full Gucci look on the cover of Vogue Paris, February 2011. It’s about her pose, her attitude. Lara Stone as seen by Carine Roitfeld. Such a tired cliche, really!
When I’m confronted with this kind of overused image, I feel slightly hopeful that Emmanuelle Alt’s vision would spare us from the eyebrow bleached Stone in the future (though I’m always grateful they use actual models for most of their covers). It’s a cover you either like or dislike, there’s hardly any inbetweens. I fall for the latter, how’s your stand? Photographer Mario Sorrenti. I like the colorful cover! First thing I thought. I love Lara’s au natural photo.
I luv me a supermodel posing as a drag queen! But Lara’s au naturalé pose is the best.
