Zero 7 Destiny And Mr McGee

I’m such a funk addicted deep down in my heart. And I seem to have a weakness for weird music. I remember my Massive Attack / Portishead days and shivers come down my spine. Also – I looooove European (read British) music. I know I told you that before, but it keeps getting back to me.

My latest obsession is Zero 7. I wish I could’ve made a rational video choice and bring you my current playlist loop pieces. Instead, I have to go for the best of what they actually made a video of. Zero 7 Destiny is a pretty interesting video, all animation. Thank you for this yet another amazing week with me! You’re great! And I hope you have an equally super weekend too! (more info right after the jump!)

Though it’s only a recent flame of mine, Zero 7 have been around for 10 years already (and four albums). The British duo: Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker worked on a change of tempo from their usual downtempo to dance pieces you’ll find on their latest album (pieces like Mr McGee with the fabulous Eska Mtungwazi, one of my loop pieces at the moment that you can also enjoy from a live rehearsal video below)

Heavily awarded, Zero 7 is certified gold when it comes to the trip hop scene. Destiny, the first video I included in this article was even featured on Lacoste’s website and it was included in many movies and TV series (Raisin Helen, Smallville, Obsessed). I won’t do much talking now, I’ll just let you enjoy the music: if Destiny brought you to a melancholic state, please tune into Mr McGee! Eska’s energy is extraordinary! (you can find more information about Zero 7 on their website, here)

Awww, great!!! I had to switch that rock-button (fault of Myles Kennedy – Alter Bridge) in my head but that was easy after the first notes. Matched well strange enough. Loves Zero 7, the video is wonderful! For sure gonna watch this again.
Such things as this “rehearsal” video are a always a joy to me. :)
As you I love(d) Massive Attack and Portishead. My music taste is eclectic. But a rocker at heart.
Eska is a wonderful singer and I love her hat too. :) European music British? Hmm….there’s more to Europe than the UK but I’ve to admit the Brits nail a lot of great music. They are the best. And that’s why I can’t stand it they didn’t win the football match, yes it’s football not soccer, yesterday night from the US. I cheered the Brits on, but alas…:((
