And because you know I like her so much and because she’s so effortlessly beautiful, even in such a simple styling and setup, Charlize Theron’s Elle Germany cover is worth your while.
Beauty at every age, yes! simple and effective. Now that’s a sight that’ll make me un-frown immediately! Thus – making me beautiful at any age! What say you? (photo via)

34? Geez, is that old? We are back in the dark ages and we don’t see anymore due the glitz and the glam. This is alarming
Wake up women!
If you are smart enough to realise that you’re not a professional model or actress you don’t need to be told that you are old at 25, 35, 45 etc. So, no – of course 34 is not old. It is amazing how many women compare themselves to models. No wonder they get upset! I don’t worry about having cellulite or whether I need to tone up – my livelihood doesn’t depend on these things! There’s no pressure on me to look like a model because it’s not what I expect from myself.
“you don’t need to be told that you are old…” by this I mean thinking you’re old at these ages would be foolish for non-models and non-actresses. Let those who seek and enjoy fortune and fame also put up with being told they’re old at 34. For these women, it will go hand-in-hand with the job description. They wanted it, so here’s what it is! (I can’t help but think of Nicole Kidman’s painfully
s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d -looking face at this point)
Thankfully it’s an irrelevant notion for the rest of us, ne’est-ce pas? Don’t let anyone else make you feel bad about yourself.
Right on RSr!
Well said.
Sometimes I think that the Science Fiction story “Logan’s Run” is actually not fiction in Hollywood and the world of fashion, that they would love to get rid of anyone who’s palm flower turns black at 21 and therefore must be put to death for being too old. Its is totally jank and twisted how some view age as a bad and derogatory thing!
Oh and Charlize looks stellar! : )
I’m not speaking here about myself ladies. I’ve noticed how many far younger girls than me are yet worried about ageing. Thirty? OMG, these poor things think their life is over. This is so typical the last decade. And that’s due to this sort of magazine stories. Neither do we see “older” (ahem) women as models. Young girls do compare themselves to models and actresses. They buy these magazines. I don’t.
For myself I say it’s insane to put a young woman of only 34 on a cover about ageing!
And it’s not only Nicole Kidman who looks stretched. I’m also tired of the Nicole bashing by the way! The Oscars were really too amusing for a friend and me to make fun of the botox e.a. fllers, nip/tucks parade! Freak land honoured themselves. Though we said it slightly different. ;)
Yes Adriana, this demented fear of aging amongst the young is really jank.
Its got to stop! But how?
Yes 34 is old…let us toss her into a home for the aged and infirm! ; )
I’m not bashing Nicole – I think she is fantastic and a wonderful actress. I’m bashing the decision she has made personally or coercively to mess so thoroughly with her ageing process. She is a down-to-earth Aussie and otherwise completely normal – it’s criminal that Hollywood has made her feel she has to do this to herself.
Has anyone seen Nicole in Margot At The Wedding ? It is not an exaggeration to say that she looks like a 12 year old in one or two scenes. It’s quite disturbing! :-O
RSr, don’t take it too personal. Whenever botox is at stake it’s always Nicole Kidman who’s got bashed in general. As if she’s the only one who’s ruined her own pretty face……..
Hollywood? It’s a brave new world.
No, I’ve not seen Margot at the Wedding.
Why does Rob Schneider rules by the way?
neither have I. However, every time I watch a movie with Nicole Kidman, her lack of face expressions worries and distracts me from the actual movie scenes. Which makes her a bad actress, not just a ridiculous runner up for Botox abuse 1st place.
You’re right Adriana, to say that she’s the only one who’s being pointed out in the Hollywood crowd. But she’s overdoing it, you know she does! And all the others come out in the open and talk about their fears and their surgical addictions. While Nicole wears her Botox with such grace, you’d say she’s trying to convince us she’s a natural. Insulting. Still I’m back at that expression-less face. Botox kills the actor in everyone.
Charlize would look beautiful no matter her age.
I’m inexplicably in love with Rob Schneider. So he rules everything!! Comedians and funny guys are often devastatingly sexy
