Posh in Vogue UK April 2008

And when we thought the brits were off Victoria Posh Beckham, she turned the table with a Vogue UK cover-story.

And what could she be talking about if not David and fashion? About how life with a footballer can be so inspiring and supportive and how she has joined a gym but can’t attend mainly because she can’t bring herself to wear flat shoes. How interesting! And I thought after all this time she would have had her own gym at home. Hm. Then she’s not so obsessed with her own person as I believed.

Bringing a modern version of My Fair Lady Eliza Doolittle to life, as seen by Cecil Beaton (to me it looked more of a Greta Garbo inspired posture, but better look and have your say too! I searched some of Cecil’s work and when coming across this photo it seemed more appropriate than any impersonator of Eliza Doolittle over the years, especially not to Audrey Hepburn), Victoria seems a bit groomed than her usual posh self.

Of course, there will be many to say that she looks every inch a 40s diva and many to ask Audrey who? preferring the Beckham Lady to My Fair Lady.

I think this either prepares a change of image/look and started all from the UK, her mainland, feeling insecure about the States reaction, either she’s trying to get audience ready for her upcoming ABC reality show. Oh, yes! She got one! And it will be about motherhood. Got you on this one, right? You can lower your eyebrows now, it will all be about fashion and Victoria’s Beckham stylist side, a side we all know and adore, that’s why she has been voted world’s worst dressed woman in 07… (anyway, word is she will be performing some changes of image and style for some boutiques or something like that. We’ll wait and see, at least that doesn’t get to be touched by any eventual strike at Hollywood).

I got you a little surprise for this article’s end – the behind the scenes video of the photo shooting from Vogue’s UK edition, April 2008 covering Victoria Posh Beckham and directed by photographer Nick Knight. Enjoy and please let me know what you think! I can’t wait to exchange opinions with you on this one.

and she is drenched in those Chopard Diamonds… but I see this shoot as a tribute to Sir Cecil Beaton (sorry, getting sick of celebs on covers)

acidhorse, Sir Cecil Beaton does deserve a tribute. Of course. Always allowed. But like you I’m sick of celebs on covers and in magazines like Vogue. Especially Vogue US and UK are defected with this virus. Isn’t there a cure for this? Why do we need Vogue to see this self proclaimed fashion icon? She’s on every cover/magazine, not shoot by a Nick Knight okay, but it is still her. Well anyway, thank you Mrs Shulman for giving us something to poke fun about…….

Dear kpriss, while writing my comment my eye was almost all the time on that patent leather green/black high heel Gucci sandal next to the article…….has it walked away by itself? Loves that shoe……

@acidhorse If it would have been a tribute to Sir Cecil Beaton, we would have had a wonderful photo shoot with many celebrities, not just one (and teeny tiny skinny little self proclaimed fashionista), so they would have truly honor his work/memory (he didn’t photographed a single model his entire life, right? ;) )

@Adriana celebrity sells. Big money. And I strongly believe there are settlements between the parties concerning marketing issues (as I said in the article, I suspect Posh is preparing a change of look and the perspective of having an actual real show just for her is like a new life for Ms Beckham the footballer wife). The Gucci shoes were a part of a special feature on the site – Editor’s Choice suggestion of posts. They didn’t just walk away, the suggestion changes with every page refresh. However, is this the picture you were talking about?
