Betsey Johnson Pink Barbie Home: Eeew!

When I grow up, I promise I won’t get a house like that! It’s far an understatement to say that it’s a pink nightmare!

These pictures are actually from someone’s home! Someone who’s still alive and didn’t seem to be affected by this pink overdose – Betsey Johnson.

Betsey Johnson Pink House

A New York based designer known for exuberant over practically anything decided to sell this pink apartment (for $3.6 million, even you can live in this candy-of-a-house!).

Betsey Johnson Pink House

I will not bring all the details to your attention, but I’m really curious how would you feel if you’d live in a 1,660-square-foot of PINK? I couldn’t! No wonder (to me, at least) she’s selling the penthouse.

Wow! That’s a lot… I think I would get tired of that fast! I mean, I like color and all, but pink? Everywhere? We do have colored walls, but so far we’ve gotten nothing but compliments. Recently, we’ve told people that we were going to paint over them, but everyone makes us feel guilty now!

Ya know, the poor woman really thinks that place was cool. Very sad comment on her fashion sense.

Dear God, it’s the House of Pepto-Bismol!

Just a glance reminds me of times naseous.

Helloo Mary Kay; I have just the most darling pied-a-terre for you…it’s even decored in your favourite Cadillac-pink, my dove!

Zsa-Zsa wanted it so desperately but had a little tummy-upset all over the signing-papers…..

All you people are so freaking boring. Yawn.

#6 kpriss on 02.23.08 at 2:52 pm

@Angela I think it’s kinda fun painting at least one wall in a bright color. Or each wall in a different color. Why not?

@joy I’m sure she had her proud times about this penthouse. It’s the long term living-in that spoils all the fun.

@Cizzle You’re always welcomed to spice things up, among us, lazy week end-ers. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

Thanks Kpriss :) I just love color so much!

Wow. You guys are nuts. That apartment RULES.

If there’s one style tip I’ll always remember, it’s this:

Have a signature.

For Ms. Johnson, it’s always gonna be pink, pink, pink, bows, ruffles, and lace. And thank god for that.

#10 Adriana on 09.17.08 at 6:11 am

Pink is certainly not my colour but I do remember the photos of chilly design appartments of Nathalie Portman and Carine Roitfeld. If I could choose in which one of these three I would spend some time it would be definitely this one!
Its so Betsy, it has her signature. That’s at least something thats real. And it has a kitchen. So at least I can cook and stay in!

I think her apt’s awesome!!!! She’s so much fun. It definitely brings out her bubbly personality! If I lived in that gorgeous apt, it would remind me of being a kid again. Go Betsey! :)

#14 lulavonn on 12.19.08 at 5:50 pm

It’s just her style. Very BJ.
I wouldn’t want that at home but surely enough would enjoy a visit!

I love it! It’s a cute Betsey Bachelorette pad! The reason Betsey is a Success is because she is herself doesn’t give a crap what other people think about it. She follows her heart and is truly an original, not like the boring vanilla Gap wearing massess! She has created her own realm and brand and has the courage to live her dream life the way she sees fit. Rock on and
THINK PINK!

I agree with the girl who posted named Kikii… I would soooo live in that house! Pink is my favorite color, and I have a passion for it! It’s more than just a color, it’s an attitude. I really don’t care if other people don’t like it, and you should be able to live your dream. I think Betsey Johnson is awesome, does extraordinory sitff, and has got to have guts to think of some of the things she does.! I mean I am not a fan of the color blue…. at all. but fiy ou want your apartment to be all blue, then go ahead. I could go on……

#17 Christina on 02.23.09 at 8:05 am

and I can’t wait to look at apartments after I finish college this year… and if I lived in a 1,660-square-foot of pink, I’d be the happiest girl in the whole wide world :-)

#20 lindsey on 08.06.09 at 8:55 am

I adore it! I think it’s awesome. It fits her to a t! The perfect mixture of vintage, girly girl, and modern. SOOOOO cute. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

#21 Janet on 04.27.10 at 11:40 am

I LOVE it!!!!!! I could live in a pad like this. Drenched in nothing but frilly pink!!!!!

I love Betsey and her style. Glad to see there are a lot of us who do ;)

#22 Tara on 05.23.10 at 12:05 pm

Honestly, the house is just stating the fact that she can really come up with things that are different. Hah, she’s a designer after all. I mean, it’s not something I’d live in FOREVER…because the boyfriend/husband would think I went pink-crazy. But at the same time I hate seeing houses that are designed the SAME way any other house would be. If anything it’s a least a house that a college girl or group of girls could live in for fun! She’s a designer people geez it’s something she does for a living and expressing herself isn’t such a bad thing!

#23 Julia on 10.24.10 at 8:39 pm

I would expect nothing less from betsey johnson. I would never have the guts to do this because I would be afraid any man that came over would run! I’ve seen this in a designers’ homes book and she said she changes the theme every so often. Obviously she was in a pink phase. I’m pretty sure she has more money than you and I know for a fact she didn’t get it by being boring like everyone else. Athens is right, this apt. rules.

#24 ayesha on 01.12.11 at 3:07 am

woww, i love it :)

#25 Jacinta on 01.14.11 at 12:59 am

:O i am in LOVE!! :D this is the most incredible thing i have ever seen. One problem; the chairs aren’t pink!

#26 Cheryl on 02.12.11 at 1:22 pm

I LOVE it!!! My husband would never go for it but if I lived alone I would definitely have that. I love things that are different. If that is what someone likes why shouldn’t they have it just because others don’t like so much pink? She obviously does. And I adore her fashion designs. Jewelry, purses, and clothing.

#27 susanna on 05.07.11 at 5:32 am

FANTASTIC!
Finally, design with character….a lot girly, a bit edgy, a lot of heart. No bland-beige here.

#28 TheWildChild on 07.10.11 at 9:42 pm

LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!!

#29 Ela on 07.19.11 at 6:25 pm

I also thing it’s gorgeous. I don’t think I would go this crazy with pink but since it’s her- like others mentioned I wouldn’t expect anything less..It’s her place and she can do whatever she wants with it…I know my place is going to be the girliest thing you’ll see but I’ll keep it classy too. I’m sure I’ll steal some ideas from her place cuz I love it and feel that she put her character and personality out there. Love it! It’s super unique and different! Go Betsey!

#30 Elaine on 06.04.16 at 2:15 am

It’s unique. After living in my boring off-white condo with my massive indecision and fear of color since 2000, Having color in my home might not be a bad thing.

#31 kpriss on 06.04.16 at 7:03 am

fair enough! It’s not about fear of color but about the everyday living surrounded by a heavily pink space (or blue, red, green, your pick). At some point, it takes its toll on you… On the other hand, a simple accent (be it furniture or a wall) could have the positive effect on the aesthetics of the living space and on the energetic flow of the person/s inhabiting it..
