A short, yet powerful love story for black sneakers took my heart by storm. Each time I make a fixation for a ‘fashion’ item, I search and search until I find the exact rendition of my dreams and then I stop and stare in complete and utter admiration until my admiration slowly fades into a need. To own and wear.
Today I’d like you to join me in staring. Perhaps get more ideas from you? Although this one is about night-black sneakers (Halloween oblige), I do confess I have just as strong obsession for grey and beige sneakers. However, should you search for these colors, you’ll easily notice they’re very rare. Especially the ones I wish for: solid grey or solid beige ones with no visible logo and matching soles (all grey, all beige respectively).
New Balance 530 Retro solid black sneakers
Needless to say more: they’re all black. Even the logo&the midsoles (and soles) as I dream of! The only downer is that the upper is not all suede. I appreciate mixing textures for a stylish effect, however, I have a soft spot for suede uppers, so I can’t overlook that when I’m looking for my perfect pair of black sneakers!

Nike Air Max 1 essential black/gum sneakers
The gum soles bring such a tasteful touch to the all-black sneakers, I’m willing to close my eyes and accept the no-black rule. The leather, suede and textile upper combo feels contemporary and urban while the iconic Nike Air sole cushioning is the signature look of any Nike aficionado out there.
Puma Aril black suede sneakers
There’s an entire generation of marshmallow soled sneakers in every brand’s portfolio. Puma’s have that higher upper construction I like best so I went for this model instead of all others (I will mention those, however). A lightweight trainer on a R698 base with a suede upper and rounded heel and toecap, the Aril suede in all black is a heartbreaker!

Nike Roshe One all black sneakers
The Nike Rosche One features the same marshmallow soles while the entire concept of the shoe is based upon a Zen garden, mimicking stepping stones on outside sole and racked rock on the inside sole. Something about the simplicity of the Roshe One sneakers is highly appealing, yet the downsliding toecap isn’t something I personally like.

Adidas Tubular Runner black sneakers
The same marshmallow soles, the same downsliding toecap, Adidas Tubular Runners are gorgeous, as black as they get and as hi-tech as they make them nowadays. And the marshmallows are only perfect for the trick-or-treat season, right? Like candy soles of your own… So which one would you choose from these 5 black magic trainers? (I would choose either one of the first three: New Balance 530, Nike Air Max 1 Essential or Puma Aril)
