Before the Met madness started, I wanted to discuss something I considered to be a bad marketing move: Givenchy changed their Very Irresistible face and went for Amanda Seyfriend, replacing the ever-so-lovely Liv Tyler. Not that Amanda wouldn’t be lovely, but her magnetism is considerable lower than Liv’s.
I know it’s just marketing and usually the star power is decisive in picking up this or that face (as such, Liv is definitely downrating having starred in less than 5 movies in the last 4 years while Amanda’s cine-star is rising up) but really? Amanda Seyfried? Have you seen her Givenchy Very Irresistible video commercial? It looks insulting! I first thought it was fan made! It’s like a really bad joke! Hit the jump to see what I mean!
The print ads, however, do hold some irresistible magic, although I still prefer Liv and her pretty rock star charm. What do you think happened and why did they so radically changed face chez Givenchy? They’ve been with Liv for so many years! I would be really saddened to find out that there was a fallout due to her not starring in movies recently (although she has three in post production). Is Amanda the new standard of ‘irresistible’?

i totally loved it, and purple is sooo Amanda Seyfried…
I don’t care much about new ad campaigns and their faces. I like Amanda Seyfried but this so predictable an not very irresistible at all.
Give me that Valentina commercial with Freja anytime. I adore it! Although I do not purchase the fragrance ;)
